Our new Multilingual Picture Dictionary is almost ready.
We already have 10 languages (English, Talossan, Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Swedish, Finnish, Bulgarian and Esperanto) but we need help from our competent linguists (and citizens in general) with a view to translating the wordlists into more and more languages.

*raises hand meekly* if you'd really like I could do Latin.

Dreu-
I think you would be an excellent choice for this endeavor.
I look forward to the finished product.

I would be more than happy to aid with the German version if help is required.
I'd also recommend getting S:reu Vürinalt in on this project, he is an accomplished linguist, from what I've seen of him in the past.

Thanks a lot, S:reu Caçeir!
I'm just waiting for a reply from S:reu Ián Anglatzara about the German version. If the answer is negative, it's all yours! :-)

I would love to help with the German version along with the others who have been proposed for this version. I can also get Finnish, Russian, Gaelic, Turkish, Arabic, and Icelandic from my local library should we be interested in translation into those languages as well.

Except for the Finnish version, already in the hands of S:reu Ian Danois, you might very well do the other ones! The first one could be Russian, but wouldn't it be hard for you to type Cyrillic? Please send me an email so I can send you the first part of the original (I don't have your email yet).

The board does not seem to be supporting cyrillic, but it is not a problem I would prefer to be working with a language I have more familiarity with though. Such as German or French, we have a dictionary with 20000+ words, I think we should have more than one person per language.

Let's do French then.
But I'd like to make it clear that the Picture Dictionary is not gonna be posted on Witt, but separately somewhere else on KotNet as .jpg + .doc files. MSWord supports several different alphabets.

I'd perfer to wait though, to see if the German is declined. Should it be, I'd like to work with S:reu Caçeir on that. I'm sending you a PM with my email in it so I can get a copy of this.

A question for Xhorxh:
In latin, to really put the definition of a word down you have to put the genetive and gender, should I do so for the picdic?

Not necessarily! :-) Nominative should do the trick.

Agreed, but meanwhile you can start the French version. FYI, I've nearly got the French done for the first doc (human body), so if anyone else wants to do French it might be useful to start with one of the other docs.
