The biggest irony is that the one Talossan from Boston doesn't give a darn about baseball. If you do like baseball, I hope you watched the American League Championship Series this week, three straight, typically predictable, dominant Yankee wins, followed by an unprecedented four straight Boston Red Sox victories ... the greatest comeback in the history of the sport of baseball. Down 3-0, the Red Sox managed to achieve a comeback victory that no other team had accomplished in the 100+ year history of the game. A truly astonishing league championship series--any Talossan who follows sports should be thrilled. And with the new rules for home field advantage, the American League gets it for this World Series (thanks to their victory in this season's All-Star Game, which is kind of weird and gimmicky but hey, the Commissioner [Bud Selig] makes the rules and he's from the Greater Talossan Area, so it evidently has the Ancient Berber seal of approval or whatever it takes to make it legit). The Evil Empire has fallen--Go Sox! Ben (slightly enthused)

The biggest irony is that the one Talossan from Boston doesn't give a darn about baseball. Actually, he cares not about ANY sport, not even the greatest sport knwon to Mankind, AMERICAN FOOTBALL! Some "American" he. If you do like baseball, I hope you watched the American League Championship Series this week, Not much point in it, since the cards are stacked against about 80% of the teams from opening day, our local Maricopa Brewers included. But I'm basically happy with the outcome...but see below. ... three straight, typically predictable, dominant Yankee wins, followed by an unprecedented four straight Boston Red Sox victories ... the greatest comeback in the history of the sport of baseball. Followed by ignorant, drunken idiots rioting in the streets, burning cars, throwing bottles at police. Nice. They lost all sympathy and support I had for them within 12 hours. Down 3-0, the Red Sox managed to achieve a comeback victory that no other team had accomplished in the 100+ year history of the game. Then their thuggish fans ruined the whole thing and now someone was kileld because of it. A truly astonishing league championship series--any Talossan who follows sports should be thrilled. All... three of them??? And with the new rules for home field advantage, the American League gets it for this World Series (thanks to their victory in this season's All-Star Game, which is kind of weird and gimmicky but hey, the Commissioner [Bud Selig] HEIL SELIG! makes the rules and he's from the Greater Talossan Area, so it evidently has the Ancient Berber seal of approval or whatever it takes to make it legit). He is to MLB was termites are to wood! The Evil Empire has fallen--Go Sox! Alas, the Cardinals won. Another World Series I have 0 interest in. Ho-hum.

I care not to cheer for any team whose fans are morons, vandalizing property, tearing down signs, burning and trashing cars, and now someone's dead because police had to disperse the idiots with plastic bullets after they started hurling bottles at them.

I beg your pardon, dear i.m., but I disagree with you about the world's greatest sport. In fact, soccer is the # 1 sport of most of mankind. American football is only played in the U.S. and Canada, and it should not be called "FOOTball", because it's played mainly with the hands. ;D

Actually, he cares not about ANY sport, not even the greatest sport knwon to Mankind, AMERICAN FOOTBALL! Some "American" he. That's cause American Football is BORING. The actual play time is 60 minutes, yet they stretch every game out to 3-4 hours with timeouts every few seconds, with the result that for 2/3 to 3/4 of the game, NOTHING FREAKING HAPPENS! Yes, that was an embarrassment for all Massachusettsans (Massachusettsites?). I'll never understand why idiots get drunk and do stupid stuff like that. But at least it wasn't as bad as some of the things that the soccer hooligans in other countries get up to. And the sad thing is, the two most severe injuries (the girl who died in the hospital after getting shot in the eye by police, and the guy who got shot in the face and then, when he turned to the police for help, got shot several more times in the chest and torso) were innocent bystanders who hadn't participated in any of the rioting, shot by police with plastic, pepper-spray bullets. Thankfully, they announced on the news that the use of those bullets has been suspended, at least temporarily. Hey, don't get me wrong, I think it's very cool when a local team makes it too the championship in any sport. I root for them. I just don't actually watch the games -- I have better things to do! ;-)
