My name is Roibeard Cresti Laira.
If it so please the Squirrel King of Arms, I request the assistance of the College in designing and obtaining arms for myself and my lawful heirs.
My favorite color is red.
For my arms I would like per bend sinister argent and sable, a cartouche and an annulet countercharged.
This blazon honors my left handedness, my work with computers, and my endeavor for simplicity and balance in life.

Begging the pardon of the Squirrel King, I have taken the liberty of creating a draft emblazon as requested by the petitioner, and append it below. Columcille Pursuivant

I like this a lot, but I have one question. Is it possible to make the cartouche narrower? Are there some heraldric rules about the aspect ratio? If I changed it to a bar would it be narrower? I like the rounded top and bottom, but if the bar is narrower I'd rather have that.

Can do.... I do notice that entities like the SCA use extremely thin cartouches.... How is this?

I am not a member of the College, but I couldn't help but notice this and chime in... is this coat of arms representative of an "on" and "off" state of an electronic relay?

Yes, indeed, the petitioner indicated that his arms allude to his work with computers. Thus the "1" on the top and the "0" on the bottom. And the black and white -- nothing grey here. As a fellow left-handed computer professional, I am envious of these very cool arms. The ex oficio member of the College of Arms indicated that the blazon proposed should perhaps be changed a bit, since "counterchanged" usually indicates that the charge (charge s in this case) would be rendered so as to cross the line of division and thus take on both tinctures. His Majesty suggested: - "Per bend sinister argent and sable, a cartouche sable and an annulet argent", or
- "Per bend sinister argent and sable, in bend a cartouche and an annulet counterchanged", or maybe even
- "Per bend sinister, argent a cartouche sable and sable an annulet argent".

Columcille [/li][li]"Per bend sinister, argent a cartouche sable and sable an annulet argent". This one is the most tongue twisting. Yes, I did intend to symbolize a binary bit. And there's another meaning too if you see the diagonal line as a division operator.
