The next Honours List is scheduled for the Sovereign's Birthday, 12 October. I believe S:reux Weckström and Gavárþic'h are the only ones to have submitted petitions so far. If anyone else is thinking about submitting a request for arms, speak now or wait an extra couple of months. Bartleby Pursuivant

Your Honour, you forget the corporate arms that are under consideration, if I might be so bold.

Your Honour, you forget the corporate arms that are under consideration, if I might be so bold. Forget? Nay, say rather "exclude." I think the consensus is that these honours lists are for individual honours only. But at least the College is actively discussing the issue of corporate arms now. I am hopeful that the Ministry of Stuff will have official arms by around the same time that the Birthday Honours are announced.

Actually, my petition isn't going anywhere at the moment because I can't really figure out what I want on my coat of arms.

Sorry to side track: Do you think a pastrami on rye would be considered a legitamite charge?

Excellent, then I thank your Honour and the College for their efforts, which are as diligent as ever. Any ideas beyond a cardboard box, for which I have as yet been unable to find any heraldic precedent? I think I suggested a cornucopia might work to symbolise a bounty of "stuff." That might make your ministry look like it's responsible for Talossan agriculture, though.

Sorry to side track: Do you think a pastrami on rye would be considered a legitamite charge? LOL. I don't think I've ever seen a sandwich of any kind used as a heraldic charge. Not even by the Earl of Sandwich or the Count of Monte Cristo.

That might make your ministry look like it's responsible for Talossan agriculture, though. My ministry is generally responsible for a wide variety of activities which postdate the feudal era, unfortunately. I suppose an alternative would be a river bend surmounted by a bridge, given the name of my Ministry in Talossan. Obviously I like that somewhat less, but I could live with it and I expect my successors could as well. I would have suggested a trumpet surmounting a river, but can't conceive that looking well. If the College has decided, might I ask if there will be a distinctive shape or format for governmental arms? I would imagine that some variation of the national crest would surround them, and there would be some variation of the arms to be used as a seal?

I would also like to submit my own petition for a coat of arms should I be deemed eligible.

Sorry to side track: Do you think a pastrami on rye would be considered a legitamite (sic) charge? To be uncharacteristically brief: No -- Jaune Sabre Herald, Squirrel King at Arms
