How would Lords Metairia, Laurieir and myself go about setting up our estates? I'm assuming that such is a benefit of nobility.

The College of Arms is busy on this very point. As everyone knows (or not) baronies are equivalent to city blocks within the realm, and the barony of Hooligan is that triangular block in the northeast corner of Florenciâ on which Hooligan's Super Bar stands.
The extent of counties (for the counts) and duchies (for the dukes when someone is elevated to that rank) are, as I say, current topics of discussion in the College. I imagine that the College will be in touch with each nobleman to request of him his preference for the name and location of his estate.

Indeed, My Lords -
To amplify Lord Hooligan's note - the College will be issuing advice to the Regent and the King on the extent of your demesnes. In the mean time, since each count is also a baron, the College would like to suggest that you start looking for a block of Talossa to call your own barony.

I am working on updated mapping for the realm, and have generated this map for your consideration. I do not currently have information about any internal subdivisions of the province related to baronies, nor if Florenciâ has been divided into two cantons which correspond to the US Census Block Groups (the division would be along Irving) This map is of the street network www.cyclepathz.org/Florencia-streets.pdfThis map is an aerial photo www.cyclepathz.org/Florencia-airphoto.pdf [200dpi, 1.1mb] XPB

What's the difference between a demesne and a barony?
If possible, I would like to choose for my barony (if that is correct) the block where my parents house is located--the house I grew up in and Talossanated from for many years.
The block is the 2800 block of N. Farwell Ave, and is contained within Farwell Ave on the East, Maryland Ave. on the West, Locust St. on the North and Newberry Blvd on the South.

What's the difference between a demesne and a barony? Good question, m'Lord. A barony is always a demesne, but not every demesne is a barony. Here is the Merriam-Webster definition: demesne Main Entry: de·mesne Pronunciation: di-'mAn, -'mEn Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French, modification of Old French demaine -- more at DOMAIN 1 : legal possession of land as one's own 2 : manorial land actually possessed by the lord and not held by tenants 3 a : the land attached to a mansion 3 b : landed property : ESTATE 3 c : REGION 4 : REALM So each count will have two - one demesne as a baron, one demesne as a count. If we ever get one, a duke will have three. I would like to choose for my barony (if that is correct) the block where my parents house is located--the house I grew up in and Talossanated from for many years.
The block is the 2800 block of N. Farwell Ave, and is contained within Farwell Ave on the East, Maryland Ave. on the West, Locust St. on the North and Newberry Blvd on the South. The College can certainly recommend that the King grant you this area to you and your heirs for your barony. It looks like this holding is in Vuode. Will you continue to allow the Boy Scouts of Talossa to use part of your holdings for their camp? -- Jaune Sabre

Thanks for the vocabulary lesson.
Yes, the small tract of land I've got my eye on is in Vuode Province...It's just a block from (former) King Ben's bedroom.
I've always viewed Vuode as my true home province. At times, I think Ben arranged things so that I would not be in the same province as he. At times, I wanted to have my own province. And for many years now we've had these (what I consider ridiculous) provincial assignment rules that are all bound up with the conceptually muddled Senats--which is the Kingdom's lame attempt to mimic the US system. (Talossans should be free to reside in the province of their choice!) But Vuode has always seemed home to me.
Will choosing a barony outside of the province I've been assigned to be a problem?
If Talossa has no residency requirements, I'd like to have my desmesne and barony in Vuode--that's where I'll make my real Talossan home. I'll maintain an apartment in MM or maybe ask my fellow Count if he'll tell the authorities that we're roommates.
