A project recently came to mind that I think I might start working on, and that is a Talossan Calendar for 2005. I am going to start looking into the prices for custom calendars, I know a few people who have had them made. I would really like to get Talossan holidays printed on the calendar as well; although this may raise the prices.
I will be starting a poll on Witt to judge interest levels. This project is still completely up in the air, once I find out prices and the number of possible buyers I will make an official annoucement.

I found a company that would be able to make a very nice one for around $30.00 Canadian, which includes all of the traditional holidays, plus up to 64 additional custom holidays to be printed on the calendar. The price may be less if I ordered a larger quantity.
Speaking of holidays...I can think of a few, but I am sure there are more than what I am aware of. Historical events of importance could also be listed. Feel free to send these to me, or list them on here. Also- any Talossan photos would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

$30 Canadian is an excellent price for this sort of thing (I've looked into it myself). With a digital camera, pictures won't be a problem at all (I even have digital pics from our trip in May to Cézembre!)

I thought it was a very reasonable price as well. There are so many possibilities for pictures! The custom dates to put on the calendar was what I was really looking for. Once I have an idea of how many to order, I will get a definite price and let everyone know. I would most likely want to get the money for the calendars beforehand, as I may not have all of that cash just floating around.

I'm still in a cash crunch, continuing on a steady diet of ramen noodles. I'm interested in the calendar, but I have no idea if I'll be able to afford even a modest purchase like that. I do have a show or two coming up with the rainfall system, so if I'm not too far behind on my bills, I'll probably be able to swing it. I hope.

Wow! The calendar is a great idea! Napoleons would even make an effort to sell them for Talossa. Put me down for one. Fritz

Unfortunately, due to numerous circumstances that came up during the time that I should have been working on the calendars, I was unable to complete them for this year.
Hopefully I will be able to get calendars made for 2006. Anyone who is interested in assisting with this project please feel free to contact me.

I'll be glad to help out, I have a ton of digital pictures of Talossans and Talossa.
Another possibility would be to have them run at Clark Graphics, the official print shop of the Kingdom of Talossa. Amy and I got calendars made up for our relatives this year (using pictures from our trip to Europe and North Africa) and they were pretty good. Clark's charges about $16 per calendar.
Kinko's does a better quality job though for about $20 a pop (in worthless Bush dollars), I don't know if having them made here or in Canada would be more cost-effective.
I'll help out any way I can, and we can always take a new set of pictures this summer in and around TalossaFest which will be held at Napoleon's.
Aside from the standard portrait of the King, the calendar should include at least one shot of each province (we took a great picture at Cézembre this summer, with me flying the flag with the island as a background -- in what felt like gale force winds... I'll see if I can't post it!) and a TalossaFest shot. I have a ton of "mugshots" of Talossan citizens if anyone has the technology to make a photo-montage of them all.

It would be best to have them available for sale by next October, which gives us plenty of time to put it together. Another task for the calendar project is to have a full listing of all Talossan holidays so that they can be printed on the calendars. Most businesses that I was in touch with included the printing of the holidays as part of their price.
