Would it be possible to obtain copies of the Talossan videos? I know that there had been some discussion on this subject before. I would be willing to send a money order to cover the costs of blank tapes and shipping or sending blank VHS tapes- whatever works.

Azul!
The best person to talk to about that would be JJ, as he has the technology to make copies. I'd be glad to let you have copies of everything I have, as long as he's willing to do the copying work. I might be able to get copies made and then you can pay me for the shipping, etc.
I promise to ship them securely. ;-)

That sounds great, I will get in touch with JJ and get back to you. I would love to have copies of everything, next best thing to actually visiting myself (which I plan to do in the not too distant future).

It looks like JJ will be making a copy of the Talossan videos and mailing them to me! Woo-hoo! ;D

You'll enjoy them--we had a lot of fun making them. I thought about bringing the video camera to this year's TalossaFest but got snagged in a bunch of other preparations and never did. :-(

One quick question: What films are actually included on the video?

There are two videos. (There actually is a third, but it's sort of random footage shot several years ago with no rhyme or reason to it.)
The first is the half-hour "Talossa Movie" we shot last year (2003 TalossaFest). This is a province-by-province tour of Talossa covering the geographical highlights of each province.
The second video includes the 1988 Coronation Party (where I was re-crowned King after the "Peculiar Republic" collapsed). That includes speeches from me, King Florence, PM Bob Murphy and others. It then continues to the December, 1989 Living Cosâ and has some footage of that, and then my 10th Anniversary speech from the Throne (same day). There may be other things on it as well, it's been ages since I watched them.
The half-hour Talossa Movie we would like to have put on a CD someday so citizens can purchase cheap copies.

I am really looking forward to the videos, I am sure they will become an annual event for me on Independence Day!

I watched the "Talossa Movie" again today for the first time in a year--it has its hilarious moments and definitely stands the test of time. You'll enjoy it.
