One of the main reasons I joined Talossa was to be a part of a functional monarchy. Since I have been here, our fledgling military has been more active than the King and it is now hindering the evolution of our nation.
If the King isn’t going to be an active contributor to this nation... hell, /his/ nation... it might be time to seriously consider the removal of the Crown from the King and begin the process of confirming another monarch or abolishing the monarchy completely.
I don’t come to this point lightly nor do I think it’s an “off with his head” moment (Pardon the French Revolution nod, been obsessed with Les Miserables lately), but I believe the time has come for a serious national discussion on how the inactive monarchy has affected our great nation!
Regards, Min. Davinescu

Okay. Let's have that discussion. How exactly has the nation been affected?

He's actually been more active lately than for a long while, and I'm hoping the trend will continue.

No picking on my bad Broadway references! I just really got into the music and have yet to see the play yet! lol

Once he was elevated to Monarch, being inactive on Witt has always been John's way. One might have thought he would have chimed in re Ben, but he hasn't. I am pretty sure he watches Witt intensely, however.

He's actually been more active lately than for a long while, and I'm hoping the trend will continue. Fully agreed. Yes, it is regrettable that he has interpreted earlier calls for activity more as an incentive to use his veto pen more often, rather than for instance responding to the Government's laudable overtures. But it's undeniable that he has increased his activity levels, began commenting constructively on Hopper threads and so on.
This is more a case of the pot calling the kettle black than anything.

I have to ask, as a contextual matter, what part of his job is he not doing?

That last line is utterly uncalled for and I request a retraction and an apology. The Foreign Minister has been plenty active. He gave a report recently on his dealings with the micronational world. He wrote the amendment to Title I, which the King vetoed for no good reason than his old friends wrote the old law. Apparently, we shouldn't be able to change any laws that "people had fun drafting" - a recipe for the dullest conservatism imaginable.

Les Misérables *actually* begins after the defeat of Napoleon and ends during the June 1832 rebellion. Pedantically yours, — John R Good, you're here. Would you mind assisting the Defence Department by giving approval for the appointment of Chief Air Marshal? I have pasted the post from just shy of two weeks ago below. Thanks for your assistance. Davinescu Þon Txoteu É. Davinescu Avatar Jun 20, 2019 0:44:03 GMT -5 Þon Txoteu É. Davinescu said: Your Majesty, I come to you as both the Commandant of the Royal Talossan Marine Corps and the Acting Interior Minster to petition for the appointment of Cresti da Ion Nouacastra Läxhirescu as the Chief Marshal of the Royal Talossan Air Corps. After extensive conversations with this outstanding citizen of our Kingdom, Cresti has shown a dedication of further developing the Armed Forces and the formal structure thereof. I am confident that Cresti would be an excellent addition to the senior leadership of the Talossan Military. Thank you for your time. Respectfully, General Txoteu É. Davinescu, B.S. Commandant - RTMC

Is this a royal appointment? I think the MinInt just decides on these. The throne doesn't control the military.

It’s a Navy Board thing covered by the revised Title I:
“Each are appointed by the Monarch upon recommendation by the by the Minister of the Interior or designated subordinate and approval by the Admiral of the Fleet.”
I, as Acting MinInt, appoint to the Board... the Monarch approves the appointment. It’s literally in the law

By my calculations, His Maj only checks his Talossa-related email about once a week, and reads Witt only once or twice a month (generally to see what on the Clark needs vetoing).
