There are three main reasons that I know of why people choose not to learn Talossan: 1) they don't have time, 2) they think it's stupid and 3) they think they suck at learning languages.
To those of you who say they can't fit learning Talossan into their schedule, I say "and yet you have time to participate in what is basically a giant roleplay?" Besides, you don't have to dedicate hours and hours per day to learning. The pages on the Talossan language website are short enough to read in 10 minutes or less, and once you get through those you can try translating short texts and getting feedback.
For the ones who think the Talossan language is silly or stupid, I really have to question why they're even Talossan. The language is one of the most distinguishing traits of the Talossan nation and a bulwark of its culture. It is nearly unique in the extent of its development. To refuse to learn it for such a shallow reason is to, frankly, be un-Talossan.
And the people who are certain they have no ability to learn another language. All I can suggest is baby steps. The doors are open for anyone with an interest. Read the pages on the Talossan language website slowly and ask about anything on the forums here. You'll always get an answer.
Talossan awaits you! How about an entire nation of Ladintschen?

For the ones who think the Talossan language is silly or stupid, I really have to question why they're even Talossan. To be fair, ár glheþ naziunál is indeed "silly", in that it's an "artlang" which evolved haphazardly over the years and is full of inconsistencies, oddities, and baroque flourishes. Even more so for the version before the 2007 spelling reforms. Which is why I prefer that version. Talossa's national language should be silly because Talossa - a few dozen people scattered across the world who behave as if they were citizens of a small nation bordering Lake Michigan - is silly in its very nature. In fact, the original name for our Kingdom was indeed Seltsam, German for... silly. But more seriously: if you know French, Spanish or Italian, you can already probably "read" Talossan. ¡HUTSCH ÜC!
