Azul,
As you may already know, I will be running for senator of our province in the coming election. Tomorrow, a speech will be broadcasted during the Pengotimes Live event where I lay out my view on what I can do as senator for our province and Talossa. If you want, I could post the contents of this speech in this thread after the event.
Besides that, I would like to also anounce my candidacy for a seat in the L'États of our province. I am not registered with a party, but running as an independent so I think that if you would like to vote for me, you will have to write in my name.
Good luck to all for the coming election.
Thor Deyaert

As promised, the text of my speech:
Azul fellow citizens of Cézembre and other Talossans,
First of all, apologies for the fact that this is not a live broadcast. I currently have a meeting which I have to attend so I recorded this short speech beforehand. My name is Thor Deyaert and I am currently running for senator of the province of Cézembre for the next term. Let me first introduce myself for the people who don’t know me yet. I currently live in Belgium and I am studying for a degree in archaeology. My main interests lie there as well: I am an avid reader of history and besides that I enjoy to hike and travel. Political theory and news are also of interest to me and this interest was even one of the reasons for joining Talossa in the first place. For the past term, I was the seneschal of Cézembre. But enough about me. What would be my plans if I elected senator? Overall, I would like to strike a balance between defending the interests of Cézembre and its citizens, and building bridges to the other provinces to help achieve greater unity in Talossa. Currently I have no definitive plans for specific legislation to propose, but I am always open to suggestions from the people of Cézembre or future colleagues in the Senate and Cosa. I also vie for greater transparency in the legislative process. To ensure that, I will make it my personal pursuit to ask the opinion of the people of Cézembre on most topics to ensure that I have their best interest at heart. As you may have noticed, I am not registered with a political party, but running as an independent. I decided to do this, not necessarily because I don’t identify with any of the existing parties, but I believe that party politics can be credited for a large part of the democratic deficit all around the world, and maybe also in Talossa. Parties form an extra middleman between the people and their representatives, a middleman that is most of the time not needed and only estranges people from the political world. As your senator, I would therefor like to start this discussion about political parties and other ways to improve our democracy so that more citizens find their way to this exciting part of Talossan life.
If there are any questions, feel free to send me a message. I will try to answer as quickly as I can. Thank you for your attention and have a great day or evening wherever you are.
If there are any questions about particular points made in the speech, or other issues, feel free to ask.
