Estimat Túischac'h és estimadas és estimats MCs et Senatôrs:
I have recently received the attached report from the Cultural Development Secretary, suggesting reform to the currently crowded (some might say overcrowded) list of public holidays and observances. I am generally in favour of the conclusions of this report, but - before I introduce legislation to bring these proposals into effect - I would like input from the Ziu.
I summarize below the revised list of holidays and observances suggested by the CulDevSec:

I summarize below the revised list of holidays and observances suggested by the CulDevSec:
HOLIDAYS
• Feb 28-Mar 1: Ziuas dal Anavatan- Combines Landmark, Culture, and Cestour Days into a multi-day
festival leading into Berber Heritage Month. It is a celebration of all things Talossan, with a special
emphasis on the special relationship all Talossans have to the GTA. On leap years, Feb 29th should be
marked by the staging (digital or otherwise) of a Talossan Opera.
• April 20: Reunison Day- Celebrates the healing of the great national schism. Also an opportunity for
Republicans to wave their iconography around.
• May 1: Flag Day- recalls the theft of the flag. In true Talossan fashion, should be spent NOT displaying
the flag (pull it from all our media insofar as is practicable). Encourage meditation on national symbols
and Talossanity in general.
• 1st Monday in Sepember: Monarchy day- celebrates the institution of the Talossan monarchy and marks
the resumption of the monarchy with the coronation of King Florence. (Suggested celebratory element...
do something to realize your arms in meatspace. Fun for the Armigers, at least!)
• November 25: Victory Day- celebrates our victory in the Cone Wars.
• December 26: Independence Day- celebrates our independence from the Big Neighbor.
OBSERVANCES:
• March: Berber Heritage Month
• June 24: Immigration Day
• September 28: Democracy Day
• October 16: Publicity Day
• December 12: Language Day
