Permanent Secretary of Defence (Ministry of the Interior)
Duties:
- Advise the Cabinet on issues involving the Nation's Defence.
- Advising the Minister of Interior for the selection of qualified personnel for vacancies on the Navy Board, which consists of: Admiral of the Fleet (RTN O-9 / NATO O-11) and the Branch Chiefs - Chief of Talossan Naval Operations (Admiral – RTN O-8 / NATO O-10), Commandant of the Royal Talossan Marine Corps (General – RTMC O-8 / NATO O-10), and Chief of the Royal Talossan Air Corps (Chief Marshal – RTAC O-8 / NATO-10).
- Administration of the Talossan Armed Forces, formulation of the Kingdom's defence policy, and procurement of equipment to be used by said forces
Necessary qualifications:
- a proven record of involvement in Talossan culture.
- ability to write and clearly understand the English language
- working understanding of military forces organization, function and structure
Expected standards:
- knowledge of the Organic and legal responsibilities of the Ministry of Interior.
- prompt and proper carrying out of duties.
- ability to work well with Ministers of whatever political party.

What Navy Board? And there is only one flag/general officer authorized by law, and that's the Admiral (see Lexh. I.1).

I was both SecDef and MC for quite a while and tried multiple times to modernize the Lex to actually reflect a military structure. It never seemed to be a priority for anyone else.

That said, as duly appointed Commandant of the Royal Marines and the largest current Branch (3 members), I would love to finally have NOCA approved
