Talossan Cycling Association

[Iason Bitxichë Taiwos]

As an occasional cyclist and Tour de France enthusiast, I have decided to establish the Talossan Cycling Association. The purpose of the Association will be to promote cycling among Talossans, sponsor races between Talossan cyclists, and, generally encourage people to take up cycling as a healthy, invigorating activity. Anybody interested?

Plans are underway already for an annual "Tour da Lispovia", a cycling race to take place on the Greenway Trail near Lisbon, Ohio.

I enjoy cycling. I cycle to work...most of the time. While cycling in the winter here isn't impossible it is difficult and sometimes dangerous. Plus, the road salt can destroy your bike.

Anybody hear of Strava?

Audrada, same here. It's very hilly where I live, so biking even in clement weather is difficult.
Lüc, Vitx and I (and Eric, if he's interested) hope to get the Tournament of Waterloo going soon. Don't worry, we'll post the results.

If Vitx ever gets his printer fixed, we'll make some nifty buttons of the Talossan Cycling Association logo, to disseminate to our members. (We also accept submissions for a new logo. The current one is pretty lame.)

I had to ask because some pedal-only-bike types get VERY snobby about e-bikes, which of course open cycling up to elder folks, the less physically fit, and those who live in hilly cities (my home town of Wellington is geographically similar to San Francisco).

Is it an e-bike or an electric assist?

Some people around here have added two-stroke gasoline engines to their bikes. I don't think that still counts as a bicycle.

I was banned from cycling by my doctor due to my low bone density, but it's rising back up and I was clearer last week! I went cycling 3 times... and then it began raining all the time...
