The Society for the Facilitation of the National Language

It is my belief that the CÚG, in recent times, has failed in its task as the regulatory agency of the Talossan language. It does nothing nowadays, despite our language's urgent need of decisions about things like consonant mutations, the vocabulary, and the grammar. Also, membership is too exclusive to allow new opinions.

I believe that the language needs a new governing body.

Therefore, I declare the Society for the Facilitation of the National Language (SIGN) so that the language can prosper once more.

Anyone who wants to join it can notify me here. Any members will meet one week from now so we can decide the methods of operation of the SIGN, including the levels of management of the Society, who will be the leader, and a list of reforms to the language that we want.

As Culture Minister, I have been distressed for a long time at the slothfulness of the CÚG, which for the last year or two has only seemed to exist in order to induct new members and has conducted no business. The Cabinet has previously discussed "legally disestablishing" the CÚG (i.e. removing its legal role as guardian of the language), but of course doing so with no alternative was not considered wise and proper. If Iac's new organisation is active and makes progress, then the issue will have to be looked at again.

Reviewing the Organic Law, it appears that some spellings are "Cosa," others are "Cosâ," and still others are "Cosă." I don't know which is correct or most modern, but it needs to be consistent.

Cosâ is the pre-2005 Orthography.
Cosa is the post-2005 Orthography.

I believe that "Cosă" is a new-fangled alternative form of the pre-2005 Orthography.

Talossan spelling rules are in limbo right now. Both Seneschal and Seneschál are considered correct, as far as I know.
