WHEREAS after multiple extensions and delays Telecomuna is still not operational, and
WHEREAS this means that the Chancery is currently in violation of Title J of el Lexhatx, and
WHEREAS even in the absence of Telecomuna, Wittenberg has been experiencing a lengthy period of low activity levels, and
WHEREAS diverting all legislative and government business to a different forum would significantly reduce the level of activity on Wittenberg, further enervating our community by dividing our strength between two barely-active fora, now
THEREFORE the Ziu hereby enacts that Title J of el Lexhatx and the further changes to el Lexhatx directed by 47RZ22 (although not yet implemented by the Royal Scribe) are repealed.

Is this not premature? The recent Terp, by Senator Grischun to the Prime Minister, seems to say that the Telecomuna shall be up and running before the end of this term.

Assuming that to be true, it does not address the likelihood that we will then have two separate fora each with more tumbleweeds than posts. The critical issue for me is that we have an activity problem, and dividing our energies this way seems likely to exacerbate that problem. Splitting Wittenberg up may have been a good idea when we were regularly seeing 50-100 posts per day, but in my opinion it's not a good idea under present circumstances.

Though I've long been for the separation of state and private property that underlies the Telecomuna legislation, it does seem like we barely need one, let alone two set of fora.

The merits of the bill aside, it looks like I've missed a valuable rhyming opportunity by using "ye" instead of "ya" in the title.

Oppose, forthrightly.
The esteemed RUMPist member does not say so, in the disingenuous manner in which his party has always done its business; but Telecomuna was created as a solution to the fact that Wittenberg is pretty much the private property of the King. We saw what this meant during the "ESB Affair", where the King took unilateral action against admittedly reprehensible vote-rigging, thus side-stepping Talossa's justice system.
We all know that the RUMP exists more or less to defend the rights and privileges of the incumbent Head of State, which he always uses in the service of his own interests, the interests of his good buddies (i.e. the RUMP), and in those of conservatism and right-wing politics generally. Telecomuna was always aimed to put Wittenberg under the control of Talossa's elected government - where it belongs - and out of the private hands of a man who, it is increasingly plain, only cares about Talossa to the extent of defending his own personal privileges and doing favours for cronies. The project must go forward, in the interests of democracy.

If you guys want to fix Telecommuna, perhaps you should put it under the Ministry of Stuff's responsability to create, and once operational, under the Chancery.
The Ziu has the habit of always putting new responsibilities on the Secretary of State, often without consulting him, despite the fact that it is the most demanding job of the Kingdom...
Just a thought...
