Colleagues, I would like to vote an enthusiastic PËR on all bills... except RZ6. Creating a new and silly job just for the sake of a new citizen? Really?

Agreed on RZ6. I was first to respond to the Phoole Act, complaining that it clouded a perfectly simple immigration bill. I'm abstaining.

Very unsure on RZ6 (Ann-Elizabeth is still absolutely worthy of receiving Talossan citizenship), and I'm not entirely sure about RZ9 either.

Personally, I am now leaning towards a CON on the Phoole bill. I dislike the precedent it sets and truly feel it cheapens us.
Still, I will take Atatürk's opinion into account before voting.

I do not see the problem in creating such a position. As others, and I, have said before: we have the Ministry of Defence, which is basically created for wargames. The Ministry of Culture is basically created for the language, and more gaming. The Ministry of STUFF... well, the name says it. The Poet Laureate is... well, as nice as it sounds, it is as useless a position as any of the above.
What harm would having a Jester do, really, honestly?
I am vehemently opposed to 48RZ9. MPF is giving himself a status of monopoly, again, including a provision to prohibit him being fired from office. ¡Noi non estameux amusats!

Giving himself a monopoly? He already has it. And it's his to keep and do as he pleases, as he's done in the past and could do in the future. He's coded this huge custom software platform that the Kingdom has come to depend on, and we've paid him nothing for it. All the money in our account would not be enough to pay him for the man-hours he's put into it. Alternative: give him formal responsibility for maintaining the database just as he's already been doing, and get copies of it sent to us, which we don't currently have. "The Royal Data Clerk can only be removed for gross dereliction of duty as determined by the uppermost cort" may not be ideal, but it's not a permanent occupation either.

And it would be put in stone, this time. Do not misunderstand my dismayed manner towards this bill as a deprecation of the dedicated work MPF has provided to us, for us, with us. I see that. I very much do. But I would much rather the Government negotiate a contract with S:reu Furxhéir, than bestowing upon him almost “Royal Powers” over the database via act of the Ziu.

Can I just say that if my colleague from M-M is equating a Poet Laureate with a court jester, he is showing massive disrespect to poetry.

RZ5: CON. Get it right before Clarking.
RZ6: Aus. The Jester thing.
RZ7: Con. Voting no to sales tax.
RZ8: Për. Sensible.
RZ9: Con. I agree with Epic. This is a mega MPF ego stroke bordering on semi-tyranny.
RZ10: Për. No reason not vote for this.
