I love Game of Thrones, but if you are wondering whether you're about to make a good decision, and it's something someone would do in Game of Thrones, then your answer should probably be no.

More seriously: I can, on behalf of the Government and of the Free Democrats, confirm that Senator R-escù's attempted cunning plan was as much of a shock to any of us as to the rest of this country. I should also note that there is a place for playing politics (in the Game of Talossa, you win or you get embarrassed and a bad cartoon is made about you); and the Civil Service is not it.
The whole point of the Civil Service is to pick the right Talossan for the job, regardless of partisan affiliation. This is precisely why the Seneschál has been pushing for the Civil Service to be set up for ages, to put an end to our tradition of political appointments. And it's extremely embarrassing that the Seneschál's comrade who was chosen as the first occupant of this role didn't seem to get the memo.
Well, we live and learn, and sometimes in that order. We'll see what other consequences will come from this.
