An excellent article, and you raise some good points, S:reu Crovâ.
However, I doubt that respect and trust can be had for this King ever again. At least, it will be difficult to regain my trust.

There's also the court case over whether the King is really allowed to do this. The hardcore monarchists who have lined up in favour of the King being able to single-handedly trash OrgLaw amendments may have to choose between the King and the Monarchy - i.e. what if the incumbent is simply no longer trusted by a supermajority of the people to use his power wisely?

I guess there wouldn't be many Talossans to gather around a hereditary President for Lifetime, or a Generalissimus, or some such. But as soon as the romanticism of medieval monarchy is attached to the concept of a single, democratically indisposable ruler, everybody has tears of enchantment in their eyes. Isn't it strange?

Great article.
I'm afraid His Majesty does not intend to undo his veto though.
Either way, I will trust the King again when he signs an amendment limiting his veto powers (we should give him the chance to do so first of course).

Sadly, his Talossanic Majesty seems to be able to operate without the trust or affection of a great number of people. I think that's what's called "monarchy".
Micronational monarchists seem to have an idea that they can pick someone who will be immune to public pressure and at the same time show a high level of integrity, for life.

Why do you think the King will be immune to public pressure?
Usually I'm the pessimist.

Because he has been so far. It's a benefit of barely being involved in Talossa. For all I know, he only checks things out when some RUMPer complains that the reformists are getting too uppity.

We'll see. Personally I still believe this will be solved, though it may take a while.
