It's from the amazing puzzle game Portal, which you should play if you haven't. I know what it's from. I'm just sifting through the symbolism.

The second graph is way too confusing because parties have the same colours as other parties...

Anyway, congratulations to all the parties that gained seats and many thanks to MPF for conducting the election.

Two questions from a database-ignorant irregular: 1) What does "101" mean in the voter response table? 2) Does the fact that "VOTE IN - BEN... ARD..." and "BENARD" are listed as valid yet separate Cosa votes suggest that each set of two seats will be awarded separately? 101 is my citizenship number. When you see 101 it means I validated that ballot. As for Ben Ard, I am allowed by law to correct mistakes on ballots when the intention was clearly to vote for a registered party. For example, a few votes FDA or Free Democrats and I am legally allowed to correct those. I did the same for the NICHOLAS HAYES who intially voted NICHOLAS HAYES (Independant/non-party), but once he registered, I was able to correct his vote. But BenArd didn't register his party yet, and as such, I am not allowed to correct the other vote since I can only do it for registered parties.

If its one party then shouldnt the count be made like that as well. Might actually result in him getting only 3 seats btw. I can only do that once he registers...

Im not quite certain on the assignment of seats yet. One count gets us at 196, another at 201 and both seem to count one party as two parties which might influence the results. There are always 3 columns of seats: - The 200 seats not-rounded. - If all of the seats are rounded down (in this case, it gives 196 seats and as such, we need to add a total of 4 seats) - If all of the numbers are rounded to the nearest interger (in this case, it gives 201 seats, so we need to remove 1 seat from a party to give 200).
The 2 methods are to help me. Sometimes, the Rounded down column is closer to 200 than the Rounded method, but usually not.
Right now, the results would be:
BENARD: 2 FREEDEM: 47 MRPT: 46 NICOLAS HAYES: 6 PROG: 14 - 1 = 13 RUMP: 68 TSP: 16 VOTE - IN - BEN... ARD... : 2
But once both Ben Ard will be tallied together by registering the BEN ARD party, they will have 3.14 seats (pi!) and their decimal (14) will be lower than the PROG decimals, so that the PROG would have 14 seats and the BENARD party 3 seats.

What would happen if Ben Ard didn't register-would the votes cast for him be treated as "present" and the seats reallocated, or would they be left vacant? How long does he have to actually do it?

Congratulations to all parties and my fellow Independent (should he register) BenArd.
I look forward to a fruitful and constructive term ahead!

I believe (but I might be wrong) that the 4 seats would remain vacant until he registers. When he does, he would keep 3 of the seats, and the last one would go to the Prog party. it's a little sad that in this situation, one of the Prog seat is tied up to Ben Ard registering or not, but when I wrote the Cosa Vote Correctional law, it was already controversial enough since for the first time in the history of the Kingdom, the SoS could rewrite a vote. In the past, it wasn't an issue, since the votes were calculated by hand and humans can take 2 votes which mean the same but are fundamentally different. When I created the database however, the election results became strict (like they should be).

I'm beginning to think that it would be wise to at least keep some sort of party fee. If everyone can just claim a party without cost, strange things could happen. BenArd could for example just register both votes separately and get 4 seats instead of 3. Imagine if I would just register the Harry Potter party, the House Stark party, the Dutch citizens party, The Rammstein party, the I love dogs party, and a 100 other parties, just to try and get one or two seats from many obscure demographics and add them to the party I support.
Also a possible reason why we should make cosa seats worth more than 1 vote. (Though on the other hand I still think 20 seats would be too little. Much of the dynamic of the Cosa, between parties and within parties themselves would be gone if we did that.)

When I voted, I just wrote "Party Vote: MRPT" and expected it to count both nationally and provincially, but the database says I abstained on the provincial vote. Can this be fixed?
