Here's the most complete exposition of how far we got with Penginijtung. King Robert I made fun of it. The late Erik Rothwell (peace be upon him) attempted to invented "Pengaelic" as an alternative. Neat. o-Meo e-hise candina. I shall more thoroughly investigate it later.

It would be so ironic if Penginijtung were to end up spoken in Talossa 17 years later. The main reason initially that Ben took against Evan and myself is that we wanted our own conlang for Pengöpäts, as well as (rather than instead of) el glheþ naziunál. No-one was allowed to be creative in Talossa except Ben in those days.

But maybe with good reason. I mean, when I get creative we wind up with things like the Goat Cake Episode.

Hark! A thing! Penginijtung now has an article on the Wiki, work-in-progress though it be.

Is that still possible, Dame Miestra? *exit, stage left*

Well, the grammar works perfectly well but the vocabulary is very small. If anyone wants to start a P-tunghanasorplejd (I think that's how you'd say "Penguinean speaker's organisation"), I'll try to find my old vocab files from 1997-8.

I think it would be Penginij-tung-sprecor-lijg, assuming -or is the agentive ending. Hanas is "to say," as far as I can tell, while sprec is "speak."
"Penguinea-language-speaker-organization"
We would need some new Talossa-specific terminology, like Senexaw and Ataturc, Benito, Sezambry, Fjova, Florentxy, Maricopa, Maritimi-Mydxestic, Vwodej.
But I'll leave that to somebody else, 'cause I'm waist-deep in El Hóbbit.

Why is there a "-j" on your "Vuode"?

Because it's /ˈvwode/, not /ˈvwodɛ/.

/e/ is not /ej/, nonetheless.

Yes, but E in Penginijtung is /ɛ/ by itself, so that's as close as I could get.

Penguinea was so much fun for the time. I don't remember the order of things anymore but wasn't Rob H the first non-Talossan citizen of Penguinea and me the third or fourth after Deet? I have nothing from those days.

Something like that, Txec. My Penguinea files are moderately complete but on another computer. The sad exception is my newspaper, The Southern Cross. Back in those days, we'd never heard of "link rot", so I assumed that once they were online I had no need of a local backup. Oh, how we laughed.
