Dear Benitians, due to the latest Vote of Confidence failing the Cosa and our interim Senator Tric'hard Carschaleir expiring his term in office, we're electing a new Senator for a full term for the first time since Spring 2012. For the records, I was probably the newest Benitian citizen when that happened.
I am thus declaring that I will be running for Benito's Senate seat in the upcoming General Election. I plead to follow the example of many Senators from other provinces by regularly polling your opinions on each month's business.
- I have served three Cosas as Member of the Cosa (44th, 45th and 46th), the latest as one of the most active members of Glüc da Dhi's Cabinet.
- My voting record is so far 100% - and I have regularly been a vocal supporter of provincial endeavour and a herald of Benito among the other provinces of the Realm.
- I am currently serving as the Chairman of the Council of Governors - a body I have welcomed with open arms.
- I have (partly) successfully harrassed the King for an new/more present Vicere, and the Vicere showed up, even if he disappeared shortly.
- I have tried (I swear) to get someone to show up to work together on Benitian legislation, but it looks like I'm pretty alone as far as the provincial government is concerned.
- I have pushed towards a semi-direct democracy for Benito, although I needed to fine-tune the reform with someone who would work with me and I didn't find anyone again - but since I will probably be sitting in the next Chancellery as well, I will complete that reform alone.
- I am also your outcoming Maestro and Arvitieir Prima, and I will likely step down as Maestro in compliance with Article 21 of the Constitution of Benito. Then, the new Maestro will appoint another Arvitieir Prima - or keep me in the role, whichever works best - but I will surely be here and conduct the next Maestro election.
Any question is welcome, of course.
Lüc
Psst... as a side note, if no Maestro candidate is around, I will probably get the Chancellery to suspend the application of Article 21 as long as no new Maestro is available to replace me. That will only be as a temporary measure - no hostile intentions are meant to exist, I pledge you.
