My fellow Senators, I have decided to cast my votes on this month's Clark as follows:
RZ26 - The Electoral Reform Amendment : Non While I can understand the movement to a smaller Cosa, I feel that this bill is too drastic. To drop the number of seats 90% of the current total is too great. In doing so, it will effectively rid our Kingdom of small parties (and the seemingly dreaded "1 man" party) having a say in the Cosa. Using the numbers from the last General Election, the people voting for RPT would have NO representation in the Cosa. When I first immigrated to the Kingdom, one of the things I really liked was that everyone could have a voice in how the Laws were made. This Amendment, as written , would only strengthen the existing large parties, and stymie any small party or groups of people from ever participating in the National government.
RZ27 - The Broadcasting Freedom Act : Non In that we don't have a Government Broadcasting media, I don't see the need for this. Secondly, in the wording under the original law states that while there are "signature" tunes and themes to these broadcasts that aren't being made are " used informally in this capacity since 1982. " There is no requirement that they be used. This is legislating some thing that isn't being done by an procedure that doesn't exist.
RZ28 - The Testing the Waters (of Republican Sentiment) Act: Non The General Election is just that. An Election. It's not an opinion poll for "How do you feel about this...". Because the current laws say that voting isn't mandatory, we could theoretically see a Poll like this that would have 1 vote returned. That is not indicative of how the whole Kingdom feels. Also, there was entirely too much discussion about the bill AFTER it was posted in the Clark. It should have been done in the Hopper. Send it back to the Hopper, and have it discussed there.
RZ29 - The Anti-Espionage Act: Non I have to vote No on this Bill. The change of wording states: "Uses another person's identity or uses an identity that creates the impression of another person to post or convey messages via email or on any public forum in the Kingdom of Talossa." This is too vague for me- because it doesn't cover the Press. Throughout history, the "Nom de Plume" has been an honored device to speak out on subjects, without subjecting the writer or cartoonist to penalties from the Government or from other individuals. If this is presented without that sentence , then I could vote for it.
