Well, Senators, I heartily counsel a big vote PËR on both issues. As to the Budget, it requires no additional expense over current reserves, which means imposing no new taxes. As to the Chancery Reform Bill - well, I have some minor reservations on the wording. I count Acting SoS Furxhéir - remind me, will the Head of State remove that "acting" sometime soon, or have I missed something? - as a good friend, but I often consider his legislation overly detailed and bureaucratic. However, the thought behind this bill is correct - to spell out more of the SoS/Chancery's role, and it can always be amended later if anything in it proves to be, in KR1's phrase, a "lawyeristic timebomb".

Pardon me for entering the Senate Chamber, esteemed senators, but only 2 Senators have cast a vote on the Clark and there are only 2 days left to vote.
Just a reminder...

Pardon me for entering the Senate Chamber, esteemed senators, but only 2 Senators have cast a vote on the Clark and there are only 2 days left to vote. Just a reminder... The Senator from Vuode empties his glass, and stands to speak.I thank the Secretary of State for his message, shouted from the doorway as it was. As of this morning, I am in receipt of three messages from his office, reminding me that I have not voted. Back in the "Bad old days" (as our brothers and sisters from the Republic say), I remember receiving instructions from the Secretary of State that included (of all things) THE DEADLINE FOR VOTING. We could look at the message and know exactly what time and what date the election closed. This tradition was useful as it added the critical time element to the communications. These are frantic times for some of us. As Prince Humperdinck said, "I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped." I am swamped too, and hate to keep bugging the esteemed Secretary of State for a reminder of when the election closes (as I did last month). With all the inevitable change going on, I want to make sure that I have the right deadline. Could we ask the esteemed Secretary of State to include this vital information in his communications? I yield. T The Senator from Vuode gestures to the bar, pointing at his empty glass, and sits.

I will add it to the email message (which is overdue to be redone to include the actual Clark which DOES include the dealine), but the dealine for voting is set by the organic law to be on the 21st of the month... I personally accept votes if I see them when I close the clark on the morning of the 22nd, so I accept votes sent very early on the 22nd, but that's only out of respect for the ZIu members.
