So this isn't a ready-to-be-voted bill, just a proposal. I was planning to flank the LC with a semi-direct democracy chamber, thus turning Benito into the first - and only - bicameral province of Talossa. I'm not actually planning to entirely replace the Chancellery with this body, anyway.
It would be composed by: - The sitting Maestro (current: me) - The sitting Senator (current: Tric'hard C.) - The sitting Arvitieir Prima (current: Istefan P.) - Those awarded with the Order of Benito (current: Istefan P. (should already get a seat), Flip M.) - A variable number of active Benitians appointed by the Maestro/Arvitieir (I'd go with three/four)
We'd require 8/9 active citizens to get this chamber to work, then.
Pros: - Independent Benitian citizens could get involved in provincial politics without affiliating with a party, which is kind of mandatory if you want to get seats in the Chancellery; - If the Chancellery has just two/three members like now, we get to have more guys sitting with us to make laws; - By having a fixed amount of members we avoid a full direct democracy, which is good but tends to have few active members anyway; - The Chancellery keeps the power of appointing and removing the Maestro and has the final vote on bills.
If I get to have someone supporting my idea (even if I wouldn't need it), I'll draft a bill soon. Also, maybe someone has a good idea about how to name it?

I think it would work, provided we can find the required number of active citizens willing to participate so as not to leave any vacant seats.

Yes, I agree with you that this would be a problem. I'm afraid that we don't have enough active citizens, just five or six.

Works for me (and I apologize that my only recent activity on Witt has been drunken outbursts...personal problems, you see.) (I've been trying to get Vitxalmour Conductour to get active again, but he is currently busy with overwhelming family and employment issues (he has four toddlers, that's enough to kill any spare time he might have for Talossa.)
