From the Lexicon of Talossan English compiled by King Robert I, and being made available electronically as we speak by the great Talossan Sir Iustì Canun, UrGP:
...and...
As Squirrel King of Arms, I have reopened the never-finished discussions of the College concerning the demesnes of the titles of nobility used in the Kingdom. It has been established that a Duchy is a province, and thus we may have eight dukes total under this current system, should the King so wish. We currently have only one, Prince Patrick, Duke of Florencia and Prince of Prospect, heir to the throne.
It has also long been established that baronies are census blocks, and thus the barony of Hooligan, the smallest city-block in the Kingdom. The other barons have chosen non-Florencian baronies, so, really who needs them? (but anyway, yeah, their demesnes are city blocks outside of The Greatest Province).
What has not (yet) been determined is the exact demesne of a Count; thoughts had been that it should be a canton, but with my unexpected (and undeserved) elevation to Count, and being a Florencian, a province consisting of only one canton, I have been hesitant to claim the entire province as my demense (especially seeing as the whole place is already the demesne of Prince Patch, the Duke of Florencia).
It is now my considered opinion that the "Parish" subdivision of the metropolitan provinces be recognised as the demesne of a count, and I would be proud to be known as Count Thord (or, in Talossan, Conta Þord). Lord Thord will do quite well, also.
Hool (who will keep the province posted on the discussions of the College on this point, and who will see to it that a proper map of our great province, with the three parishes and our 23 most awesome kibbutzes, gets to the Wiki)
Kibbutz {n/cs} A term with a distinct Judaic flair, suggested in 1997 by Talossan Cartographic Institute fellow Charles Sauls for Talossa's smallest subdivisions; the word "township" (q.v.) was eventually chosen instead. The province of Florenciâ (being led by the aforementioned Sauls) chooses to recognise "kibbutz" as a correct term for "township."A township in metropolitan Talossa is (almost always) co-extensive with a census block; a city block. Which means that the Barony of Hooligan is upon the Hooligan Kibbutz.
...and...
Florenciâ {n/je} From 1984 through 1990 Florenciâ was the southernmost canton (q.v.) of Mussolini Province. In 1990 its native peoples (read: John Eiffler) demanded autonomy due to dictatorship in Mussolini Province. Soon thereafter it became its own province, named after Florence Yarney (Talossa's King Florence I). It is composed of three parishes: Thord, Eifflerion, and King Florence; those parishes are further divided into 23 townships. Florenciâ's capital is at Landmark Lanes in Thord Parish; its official abbreviation is "FL."Further research (by Sir Iustì, of course) has revealed that the Barony...also known as a Kibbutz, thank you...of Hooligan is located within the Parish of Thord.
