My name is Mic'haglh Loquatsch, or, in English, Michael Pope.
If it so please the Squirrel King of Arms, I request the assistance of the College in designing and obtaining arms for myself and my lawful heirs.
My favourite colour is cerulean.
I would be interested in something that incorporates the Guelph Cross, as a nod to my previous political party in the Republic, if such is possible.
Thanks!

S:r Loquatsch and I spent some time in discussion and design last evening, and an initial draft of a possible conception for his arms may be posted here soon.

Actually, no. Hadn't thought of that. Although it may have been appropriate in more ways than one.
I like the draft we've come up with, though.

I like the draft we've come up with, though. Here is that draft: Or in cäps üna liun paßind azür glhimbada goglhas es armada or in el baseu àl sinistrà üna coraziun es pað üna tardà goglhas ün crutz erxhent.
Or in chief a lion passant azure langued gules and armed or in sinister base a heart and upon a gore gules a cross argent. Columcille

Very nice. The lion looks passant rather than courant, though. And if the gore is covering the lion's paw like that, should it be blazoned "overall"?

Yes, my bad. Passant it definitely is. I blazoned it without looking, and my memory is bad.
My understanding is that being a full-blown ordinary, a gore is applied to the field at large, and always is therefore overall. His Majesty is encouraged to chime in here.

why not make the dragon slightly smaller so it fits on the field and is not partially hidden?

why not make the dragon slightly smaller so it fits on the field and is not partially hidden? Because it's a lion? I'm still waiting on someone to put a bonacon on their arms.

The 'Or' used here looks like a shade of cream, not a perfect gold... in recent times a shade of gold resembling 'orange' was turned down by the high-ups in the college.
I am too small a man, er... I mean a 'fellow' to object, but what can I do? I just interjected...

I think the "upon an X a Y" blazoning isn't used where X is a charge. (A gore is a charge, not an ordinary.) And the cross on the gore would then be a charge itself, because an ordinary can't go on a charge, can it?, so we should specify it as throughout. I think the blazon should be: Or, in chief a lion passant azure langued gules armed or and in sinister base a heart gules, overall a gore gules charged with a cross throughout argent.
I'd make the heart and gore the same shade of red; and maybe a bit bigger to better fill its space?
