Well my favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz, but I don't think I know how I want my coat divided and tinctured.

Half of the coat of arms needs to be sepia.

Those links I posted both here and on the thread "Designing your COA" explains all of those terms. talossa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=collegeofarms&action=display&thread=6063Sable and Argent are Tinctures. The rest of the terms explain how the shield is divided , and if there is a variation on the CoA. For me, the easiest way to learn was to google each term, with the word "Heraldry" So, "Fess Heraldry" will bring you both to a definition, and an Image.

Sorry but can you please explain that a little differently, I only understood the last word. Oh, they were all jokes. Here's what we have: A fess wavy masoned or -- an undulating stripe across the shield, paved with yellow bricks. A lion contourney courant proper -- a lion facing the way it shouldn't, and running away; a cowardly lion. Two shoes gules per chevron inverted -- two red shoes, toes apart, the heels touching. Per pale per fess sable and argent and technicolor -- the shield divided in half lengthwise, the left side divided in half across the middle, and colored "black and white", and the right half...technicolor. All jokes from your Wizard of Oz mention. :-) Heraldic jokes are hilarious. To about four people. Luckily I am one of them. RLH

I was thinking more of four sections, with some of the symbols from my example, the left two sections being a sepia tone, your's is very nice but it only incorparates one idea into my CoA

I was thinking more of four sections, with some of the symbols from my example, the left two sections being a sepia tone, your's is very nice but it only incorparates one idea into my CoA And here in lies the problem. "Sepia" is not an approved Tincture. Here is the list of tinctures that are approved: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tincture_%28heraldry%29Along with that- your symbols ( charges) are not found easily in the list of Charges that are usually used. The Japanese script and South Western Native American symbols are not something we can find in the rules of Heraldry. We really do want to create a CoA that you desire - but on the other hand, we must stay inside the acceptable guidelines that have been established before. The only device that we can accept ( at this moment) is the Fleur-de-lis.
