That's right, I'm being semi-serious.

First off, I love poker. LOVE IT. I spend most of my time at college playing poker between and after classes when I should be studying. (That could be why I'm not doing as well I should be ;D Just kidding!)

Anyways, I know there are many Talossans out there looking for a nice fun "bonding" thing to do after the cutthroat, gut-wrenching political battle we just finished. It is time to unwind, loosen the tie, tilt the screen away from your bosses window, and fire up an online game with your fellow citizens!

The tournament will be open to everyone, free of charge, no matter what province you are in. Everyone will start off with 10,000 louis, or $15,000 (no, you can't cash out), and all of the tournament games will be played over the internet. (Site or game platform to be determined.)

The tournament will go in rounds, depending on how many sign up, and yes, when you lose your money, you are out. No borrowing a few bucks from someone like some of us tend to do when playing Talossapolia. (Wait, I'm the only one? ) The tournament will give you a # place finish, and only the first and second prize winners get a prize. This isn't soccer--no participation medals either.

The first place winner gets a nice trophy looking graphic, and the chance to throw a pie (pecan!) in Hool's face next time you see him.

The second place winner gets a high five! And a smaller trophy graphic.

You may ask why this is called the Maricopan Poker Tournament. For that, I really don't have an answer Just looking to boost Provincial Participation!

Umm...I'm not sure yet. I've been looking at either www.bluffave.com/ (Flash I believe) or www.pokerth.net/ (Downloaded app. It works on all systems, but I prefer playing it on Ubuntu because it is a bit faster.)

I'm also going to explore others, and am open to suggestions. I don't think that I will branch out to to the big time engines like PokerStars or FullTilt though.

Yeah, If I need to sign up to one of those big dog sites then I'll probably give it a miss. Count me in though as a maybe, perhaps.

Right now, the plan is to plan the dates around the schedules of the players. I didn't want to set any kind of time yet because I knew that with the time differences of everybody, one preset time would inconvenience someone.
