I remember when I was Benito's newest citizen. How time flies.
Where is this pie? I want pie. Wait. What kind of pie? I'm a little finicky on pies.
Perhaps I will bake a pie in honour of Benito this weekend.

I've recently discovered the joys of marionberry. Quite tasty. Doesn't taste like corruption and crack at all, to my surprise. More like boysenberry.

Greetings everyone.
I remember when I was a new citizen, and I've been around for quite some time. Of course, I do have a nasty habit of disappearing for some time and then showing up again.
So- do you guys have anything you want to know about Benito, any ideas of how to get our province going, etc.?

I've been trying to come up with ideas to make Benito a more active province. Trying, and honestly, not coming up with much., aside from trying to persuade/coerce friends to join Talossa. Anyone else got anything? I've noticed that a few of our current and former Benitians from Italy greatly dislike the name of our province, for obvious reasons. I believe several potential Benitians gave up on seeking out citizenship simply for the namme of the province they were to be assigned to. I'm not suggesting we change our name (yet), but that this is something we should have a discussion about.

I'd go for changing it, so long as it wouldn't always come with the tagline "whatever (formerly 'Benito', formerly 'Mussolini') province".

I agree that a discussion of the name is probably in order. The old saw "if one person complains about something, it's bothered ten times that much" probably applies here as much as it does in retail and customer service.
There's not much point in alienating potential citizens right off the bat....and a name is just that, a name.
What are the protocols for such a discussion? Is this a matter for the Cosa, or simply an internal matter for the Benitian citizenry and political body?
I would propose an open debate on the pros and cons of the matter - both the need to change and if so decided, the methodology and implementation of such.
Is there precedent for public referenda?

At the end, we will discuss on that during the first session of our Legislative Chancellery.
I hope we'll find a name that everyone will agree on.

Azul,
I am a prospective citizen and based on my residence in California, I believe this province will be my new home. I look forward to getting to know all of you and adapting to the local and national customs once His Majesty grants me naturalization.

Actually, and fortunately for you, California is part of Maricopa's catchment area. Fortunate because Maricopa is my own province. In any event, Benito is closed to immigration at the moment, being overpopulated due to the extraordinary fecundity of some of its newer citizens.

Yes, I saw on the main website that it was closed after I posted. I'll read up on Maricopa!
