Members of the GTZT, Grand Poobah, ladies and gentlemen of Talossa.
I would like to address you here today to ask for support in a possible project. It seems that at some point along the road the GTZT and myself became 'opposing forces', for lack of a better phrase. We ended up in a face-off once before as, if I remember correctly, several people felt I had overstepped you guys, crossed some kind of GTZT boundary or intended to disrespect the work that you all have done thus far.
I apologize now as I did then. I did not intend to go head to head with the GTZT and I always worked with the best interests of our Nation at heart. My intention in the past was simply to build a prototype concept with the hope that my private enterprising, along with others, would be picked up by the GTZT and put into full implementation.
To avoid future conflicts between the GTZT and myself, I would firstly like to ask for official membership in the GTZT. I remain a humble servant to Talossa.
Secondly, I would like to request a bold project be started with the full backing of the GTZT and any other group or person who wants to help shape the future of Talossa.
I have long been trying to convince enough support for a more modern social network approach to Talossa. I have designed several prototypes to show what kind of technology is available and how it can be used to Talossa's advantage. I think the coming changes in Talossa with the massive influx of new people is a perfect opportunity that we should not let go to waste.
The reason why this is the perfect time for these changes is that there is going to be two very different groups of people in Talossa for the first time with each side sharing their own histories and each person holding different autobiographies. We are going to be thrust into a golden era but before that era begins I predict many teething problems, one of which will be an alien atmosphere. When it is all said and done, each citizen on both sides will have to really begin learning all about the new folk.
A social network for Talossan is the perfect answer. I suggest we work in stages to achieve the grand design.
Stage one: We already have citizen pages on KoT. We should use this system and simply upgrade it. However, I think we should replace the 'free-reign' whitespace pages with an actual profile system, perhaps even bringing it off of the official KoT site.
The profile will include all the basic information required to be linked into the citizenship list. Each citizen will then have the option of choosing what other information to display. The page will include that persons Talossan history. provide links to pages for groups and party affiliations. and more.
These sort of profiles will allow prospective citizens, current citizens and new Republican citizens to browse through and easily navigate between profiles and learn all about the whos-who. Think of it as a mix between Facebook and wikipedia. An informative browsing experience of Talossan profiles for Talossans.
Stage 2: Once the profile pages are in action the next magical step would be to finally ditch proboards, install a proper forum system onto our own site and link it's use to the now already existing profile database. One login for profiles and forums.
Stage 3: Integrate all communications via the profile system. A PM system that links all offices and users to a single inbox. If you PM the clerk of courts from any KoT page it gets to Bradley Holmes whether you know who it is or not. Option to forward all PMs to an email address if desired. Option to have profiles for offices by this point - perhaps even earlier! Still only one login for profiles, forum and all Talossan communications.
There is the plan. From there it can go anywhere, we can expand and introduce new stuff constantly or we can leave it at that.
