So, I'm thinking of putting together some courses on web development. Courses would range from beginner to advanced levels. Courses will cover topics such as;
HTML, XHTML, JAVA, CSS, (perhaps later I could do PHP or some other scripting languages, or even a course on basic scripting touching them all).
I might even do a course on graphic design (making web banners and buttons, posters and the likes. basic to advanced photoshop style skills).
I'm thinking I will do things a bit different for this course...I will prepare and release the entire course in one go and leave it available as an on-going open study course. The exams and what not can be submitted to me at any time in the future for assessment and certificates. (you would be required to download some software for some of the courses, I will use reliable and safe open source programs for the course (meaning free and stable), such as GIMP for example. Anything like this will be bundled in an installer with the entire course download).
The courses themselves will contain;
written course notes for study, links to video tutorials and exercises on youtube, assessment in the form of two parts; written theory tests and practical exercises to be submitted.
After assessments have been submitted you will be issued with a certificate proving you have been taught and assessed in a given subject.
So, before starting with this, I just want to see who would be interested enough .....

Perhaps one of the course projects could be having each student create their personal Webpage on kingdomoftalossa.net -- as everyone knows, I wish more citizens would take advantage of the opportunity, and build their own pages up there.

I am becoming more (and more) interested in this prospect. Especially the GIMP aspect.

So, does this seem to be a sufficient amount of interest?

im kinda interested in the java part...(depending on how advanced you're getting with it) maybe the html... and would be HIGHLY interested in learning a scripting language like PHP or Javascript... that is the only thing holding my programming skills behind. Or, if need be, i can help you with the java part... i have 2(maybe 3 now that i think about it) year of experience in it. lol
