Greetings Citizens of Ataturk,
since I have recently been awarded citizenship and allocated to this beautiful province I thought it best to introduce myself and find somewhere to officially live. I just wondered if I could just claim an apartment on any street in the province... and then go from there, or is that too presumptuous?

Well....
unless you actually plan on physically moving to Atatürk, which would definitely be cool, I think that any of the thousands of Cestours who are living there might be a bit put out by your staking a claim to their residence from afar. :-)

Actually this claim was presented more in the guise of a 'theoretical' residence rather than a physical occupation of space... in much the same way a Nobleman might claim some territory despite the fact that he/she never lived there nor has any intention of actually residing in the territory. Perhaps in this light I should apply (formally) for a suitable noble title... something like Pasha Daviu of Abbavilla? Would that be a more acceptable procedure?

There is no existing procedure for applying for a title of nobility. None of the existing titles were requested by their recipients, which says something. You are, however, welcome to apply for a grant of arms via a petition to the Royal College of Arms.

To elaborate on Sir Cresti's post, all Talossan citizens are considered to be gentry and thus entitled to grants of arms on petition to the King via the College of Arms (which will assist the petitioner in designing arms according to proper heraldic practice).
Persons who are dubbed knights or dames by the King receive this honour only at the Crown's discretion and decision, advised only by His Majesty's Privy Council and Household. This is also the case with peerages (barons, counts, and dukes, of which Talossa currently has a total of four). In practice, knighthoods and peerages are extremely rarely granted by the Crown, and only if His Majesty feels that the recipient has provided invaluable service to the realm over an extended period of time.
That said, of course, how I got to be a baron, I'll never know.
