I am not a Benitian, but I think perhaps some consideration should be given to the saints already being honoured on Benitian soil. The Roman Catholic Church maintains SS Peter and Paul Parish in Benito, at 2490 N Cramer St. As I say, I am not a Benitian, but it seems to me that since this is the only Catholic church in Benito, Saints Peter and Paul should perhaps be considered to be the (longstanding) patrons of the province. (Just trying to help, and to keep the nation true to itself and its true character, where forty to fifty thousand people live and work and worship.) Hooligan P.S. Another saint currently being honoured in Benito is the patron of St. Mary's Hospital there. P.P.S. At least one street in Benito has a saint's name, and does not extend into any other province, so perhaps this is another idea. This is Thomas Ave. P.P.P.S. I'm not really sure what a political party should have to do with the proposing of a patron saint for the province, though. It seems to me to be something completely apolitical and non-governmental in every way.

Ooh!!!!! Again, I am not a Benitian, but given the patrons of both the parish and the hospital in Benito, I can definitely say that if I were a citizen of Benito, my vote would be that all three be named the patron saints! The musical connection is way too good to pass up, is it not?

Well, as I stated, the proposal of a patron saint does not seem to be to in any way be a party matter. Talossa has a Roman Catholic community, and patron saints would seem to me to be something that such a community (consisting of persons of many political parties and opinions) would decide upon.

I am very much in favour of Patron Saints for our provinces, perhaps even for other aspects of the Nation too. However, I too agree with Lord Hooligan in that political parties can not become involved this sort of thing. I think that S:r Altavilla should have went on this path as a private citizen, perhaps he may want to continue as such. I think S:r Altavilla has become a little confused with some matters here, the language barrier is certainly a factor. This was not a proposal from the FGP.
S:r Altavilla: You are able to do things like this without the need for politics. I know that you are new and you are still finding your initial footings within the Kingdom. If you are unsure of the process of any matter, please do not hesitate to speak to someone regarding your thoughts. That includes people outwith the FGP too. We are all here to help.

Other folk like patron saints too, not just the Papists!
But I like the idea of political patron saints...Francis of Assisi for the Democrats and Torquemada for the Republicans?

I would posit that the establishment of a patron saint is a religious choice.
Er go...
I would leave the decision to the Catholic Community in Talossa, taking the decision out of the government's control.
Naturally, if a party wishes to assign their own patron, they may. As a company, or even individuals may choose to do.
Why give one saint the government's seal?
