As to 39RZ9, "The Military Consolidation Act," I vote per. Our Minister of Defense continues his attempts to reform his Ministry, to all of our benefit, and this is another step in his reasonable proposals. I agree with them and happily affirm them.
As to 39RZ10, "The Budget Act for the 39th Cosa," I vote per. It meets the legally mandated requirements of the Men In Black 2 legislated guidelines - as one MC reminded us! - and does so adequately.
As to 39RZ11, "The National Security Act," I vote per. This is part of the Seneschal's priorities for this term, and our MinDef has put it into action in brilliant form.

The senator from Cezembre finds that 39RZ9, 39RZ10, and 39RZ11 are all for the most part acceptable (athough he is a bit leery of some of the consolidations, he will defer to the MinDef).
He quaffs 3 shots of Makers Mark, each to signify PER, one for each act.
And, now time for breakfast...

The Senator from Vuode, who has been fighting a pesky outbreak of the Virtumonde trojan for 63 days, takes time from this life-or-death battle to cast the following votes: - On 39RZ9, "The Military Consolidation Act," I vote Non. I support separate Marine and Air Corps.
- On 39RZ10, "The Budget Act for the 39th Cosa," I vote Non. I can't vote for any government spending.
- On 39RZ11, "The National Security Act," I vote Non. The system seems sound, but the need less so.

The Senator from Atatürk sits at his desk on this dark, dark day. He soberly and somberly stands up to announce his vote.
As one of the two members of the Naval Air Corps, I do not feel that our, nor the Marine Corps, integration into the Navy is beneficial to our unique cultures. OK, neither of us really have cultures yet, but it could happen. We are already part of the Bureau of the Navy, so keeping the three branches instead of cramming us into one doesn't really create or keep extraneous positions. Therefore, on 39RZ9, I vote CONTRÂ.
Budgets are good things. It's a shame that we're depleting the National Treasury by more than half, but I guess you need to spend money to make money. On 39RZ10 I vote PËR.
I kept reading and re-reading "The National Security Act" and going back and forth on whether to vote for or against it. I like the idea behind it. Fortunately we don't really have a need for this, yet. I do not like the classification system outlined. I don't think that a classification system should be based on the topic of the material. Also, it didn't look like there was a way for certain lower officials to be read into a specific instance of higher classification. There are a couple of other questions/concerns I have, and it is entirely my fault for not getting involved while this was in the Hopper. While I vote CONTRÂ on 39RZ11 at this time, I do promise to help redraft and re-Clark it.
The Senator finishes his lunch, laments the fact that there is nothing left to drink, and wanders out of the chamber on this dark, dark day.

On 39RZ9, "The Military Consolidation Act," I vote CONTRÂ. Though I have always been in favor of the motto "quality rather than quantity", this does not seem to me particularly beneficial. If we do not have sufficient manpower for a Marine Corps and an Air Corps, it does not seem to me that moving them under the Navy will change that; we might just as well get rid of them altogether. And Talossa is growing quickly--perhaps too quickly.
On 39RZ10, "The Budget Act for the 39th Cosa," I vote CONTRÂ. With such a limited budget I think we ought to use our available monies better, and in different order of precedence. For instance it seems one of the first items ought to be the chain of office for our Seneschal. (Fortunately we don't have to buy a crown for our king or we might never do much...)
On 39RZ11, "The National Security Act," I vote CONTRÂ. I for one am not comfortable with that much government supervision. Though I see the benefits of it and admit the value of ensuring that we do indeed have real citizens, this is something that in a real nation would be abhorrent, unless of course it were a communist state.
