APPOINTMENT OF SENESCHAL FOR THE 39TH COSA

We John by the Grace of God King of Talossa and of all its Realms and Regions, King of Cézembre, Sovereign Lord and Protector of Pengöpäts and the New Falklands, Defender of the Faith, Leader of the Armed Forces, Viceroy of Hoxha and Vicar of Atatürk, being minded to provide for the good government and security of our realms, noting that a single political party has won a majority of the seats in the 39th Cosa, and cognizant of the recommendation, made to us by that party, that our well-beloved subject Ieremiac'h Ventrutx should relieve Ma Lord Hooligan as our first Minister, do hereby appoint the said Ieremiac'h Ventrutx to the Seneschalsqab del Regipäts Talossan to continue in that office until the election of the 40th Cosa, confident of his loyalty pomposity and ability. And we most heartily thank Lord Hooligan for his 18 months' faithful service as Head of the Government of our Kingdom, with full trust and confidence that his exemplary service to Talossa will continue unabated and uninterrupted, with relatively little kicking and screaming, in whatever capacities or offices he shall undertake, or shall be imposed upon him.

Done under our hand royal at the city of Lone Tree in Colorado, this 23rd day October in the year of salvation 2008, of the independence of Talossa the 29th, and of our reign the 2nd.

My King, fellow Talossans, Cestours, and my friends thank you for joining me on this great adventure.

It is with great joy and excitement that I joined Talossa in 1997. Amidst the original controversy of my citizenship with the then Mad King Ben, there were concerns over my potential future in Talossa. The concerns turned to fear in the paranoid mind of the mad King Ben that my arrival into Talossa marked the end of the world and soon a “host of young republicans” would join Talossa and take over. Turns out that those fears of me were unfounded, what Mad King Ben feared was change.

Change is what Talossa is about. In the beginning Talossa was founded on Change. The bedroom that became a country is a change in the fundamental form, the same change that draws us back again and again to Talossa and her beauty. Change is what we have for the present, the past and now the future.

Change comes naturally to Talossa. Change of the past as the culture shifted to cybercitizens and influence beyond the local shores of mar Talossa. Change as Talossa splintered and disenchanted people left myself included. Change as Talossa grew up and threw out a tyrant Mad King Ben and sought to become once again a great nation. Change as Talossa democratically elected a new King. Change continued with the adaptation of the laws to protect Talossa from future tyrant.

Change happened as Talossa welcomed me back as a son once again, in full citizenship, in full support, restored in grace to serve the Kingdom in what ways she saw fit. Today we stand on the brink of yet another change.

Today I accept the recommendation and appointment of Prime Minister.

To serve my King with great love, faithfulness and adoration. That I would be considered worthy to be the lowest servant of the King’s royal house, to defend and protect the integrity of this Kingdom and her citizens. For this I am truly honored.

Today I follow in great footsteps of Lord Hooligan, I stand in awe of the accomplishments of the Prime Minister’s of Talossa a great legacy to follow.

While my appointments of cabinet members will have to wait a few weeks as I gather fellow advisors around me to ensure that Talossa will continue to embrace the change that is happening to our Nation and the very world around us.

Hope from the Past, Hope is for the Present and Hope is our Future.

God Save Talossa, Long live the King.


I do solemnly affirm that I, Ieremiac'h Ventrutx, will faithfully execute the office of His Majesty's First Minister of the Kingdom of Talossa, and will to the best of my ability defend the integrity of the Talossan State. Long live the King!

As the outgoing Prime Minister, I wish the incoming Prime Minister well, and I pledge my own support to his administration as it moves us another eight months further into the bright and glorious future of our great nation.

I ask Seneschal Ventrutx to please establish a telephone conference line so that all citizens of the nation and interested others might hear him intoning the words of the oath of office when it is given to him by one of the Justices of our Uppermost Cort, and I remind the Most Honourable Prime Minister that it is incumbent upon him to obtain a copy of the book The Loom of Language upon which his hand must rest, as mine did, and as the hands of all his predecessors did, while reciting this solemn oath in our national language. My friend and my Seneschal, I look forward to hearing you repeat those immortal and binding words, and thus to take unto yourself the powers to fulfill the duties of the great office that you merit.

I once again thank my King and his people for having bestowed upon me the great honour to serve as Seneschal during the two Cosas just concluded, and I hope that His Majesty has found my service to be to the satisfaction of the Crown.

With these words, I proudly join the company of His Grace Duke Ian, Milords Count Danihel and Baron Quedeir, Sirs Fritz and Sam, Tuischac'h McGarry, and so many others, as a humble soul who has been so fortunate as to have been called upon to serve the will of their nation as a Prime Minister of this great realm.

God save the King. God save the Kingdom of Talossa. And God help its Seneschal, the Most Honourable Ieremiac'h Ventrutx.

Politics aside, it is in just incredibly poor taste to make a statement like that in public, let alone in the thread where the King is announcing the appointment.

If Niinistö refused to vote in favour of recognizing Talossa, would you consider him a despot, call him Caesar, and accuse the Finnish Parliament of neo-nazism?

Because your recent actions in handling the loss of your post reflect that your response would be quite similar.

Actually, I wasn't going to comment. I think your comment was well done, actually.

My "class" comment was simply that one should not post a rant about how bad a person is in the thread where the King is appointing him to a government post. Just a bit tacky, ya know?
