Fellow senators, both present and absent:
I cast my vote for Senator Alexander Davis.
Also, voting ends tonight.
Thank you. I yield the floor.
(Oh, and watch out for all the squids; it's best not to step on them.)

Apologies to all for my lateness in concluding this matter, but I must confess I am disappointed at the lack of response, or I should probably have made it more of a priority. (It seems the squids must have gotten them after all, or the monkeys; one never can tell which.)
Three votes were received for this matter, less than half our body. Two of these votes were for Senator Alexander Davis and one for myself. Thus we have a majority (though it is strange to think of two as a majority), and consequently I would like to congratulate Senator Davis on being elected Mençéi del Senäts.
I yield the floor.
Relieved of duties, the Senator for Benito looks around the mostly empty chamber, shrugs and departs, thinking upon how much the life seems to have gone out of all proceedings, wondering whether it would have been possible to prevent.

Hey, look at that! I thank the good Senator from Benito and graciously accept this position. I look forward to continued courtesy and excellence from this body. I would also like to praise Senators Holmes for his recent votes, which form an example for all of us. In the future I will attempt to emulate him in his enthusiasm, which is well in keeping with the proud Talossan senatorial tradition.

But I argue that Senator Briga deserves praise too, his votes are chocked full of enthusiasm. Congratulations Senator Davis!
