The lecture for today can be found here. I decided not to include a "secret question" upon realizing that if this was not read and reviewed, then the final would be impossibly difficult. Next week, we will discuss Old Man and the Sea.

Whoa. We don't even get to know the question? OK; I'm not sure that's entirely fair, but here are my guesses:
1. 1551 2. Burundi 3. Every day EXCEPT Christmas 4. Schuyler Colfax 5. Hydrogen peroxide
Sheesh.

The Tuesday following the first Monday of November 4. Charles Fairbanks 5. Dihydrogen monoxide XPB

Of the African countries that achieved independence in July 1962, which one comes next alphabetically after Algeria (the most Berber country in the world)? 3. Which day is not Independence Eve in Talossa? 5. What simple chemical is effective for removing many common stains from Berber carpet? Okay, I too am stumped on number 4.

Oh, I thought we were going to discuss it this week. I was all ready too.... I guess maybe I'll read it again then. It was good. I hadn't realized it was his last work.

Roibeard and I read the lecture with much interest. Laughed when hearing about his leading the troops to the bar. He's finished with the book, but I am not yet. I'm on page 60. I'm glad for the extra seven days to really absorb it.

PS It snowed last night, and the strange weather is leaving us very tired. I'm so ready for spring. If Roibeard doesn't have a chance to participate this week, please count mine as participation for both of us.
