This isn't very PM-ish of me, but I want to let you all know how I feel personally about recent events.
I am saddened that so many prominent Talossans felt the need to do their own thing. They were valuable members of the Kingdom in many respects. I'm not good friends with any of them, but I certainly do consider them "pals."
That said, I am shocked at how they have chosen to treat us. It reminds me of the Colts slinking off to Indy under cover of darkness and weather. Without all the vitriol, of course. The point is, I think they disrespected us as Talossans. They have created a situation where they hope things get so bad for us that we'll join them. I say, if we're so important to them, they would have asked us in the first place.
Indeed, we need reforms to ensure this won't happen again. But Talossa is much more than politics. It's about us, and how we interact with each other. That's real nationbuilding there. There's no point in having laws if we all hate each other.
I'm not going to beat myself up that this has happened, but I sure do wish I would have done some things different, and I know better what I need to do to lead our nationette.
You know, I can't help but feel a little like Jimmy Carter.

Well said my Right Honourable colleague!
What upsets me the most about the upstart Republic of "Talossa," is the manner in which they formed this republic. They chose a time when they knew that His Majesty, myself and the Prime Minister had limited internet access; they planned this behind closed doors, and seized Witt, thus cutting the online citizens off from each other.
If this group of rebels wanted a republic, as despicable an idea as that is to me; there are legitimate ways to bring this about.
God Save The King!

What upsets me isn't the Republic, it is the reasons cited by the Republicans that precipitated their departure that disgust me. Ignore them if you will. Know that if you do, there will be more people renouncing. That is not a threat, it is a fact.
Address the root cause of the problem.

Personally I am disgusted at the establishment of a republic and the act of treason being committed by so many active former citizens. (Not to mention the way they went about doing this).
As I stated before, if you have issues that you want addressed, then draft legislation for the next Clark. Until then, there is nothing anyone can do besides discuss and debate.
