The Senator from Maritiimi-Maxhestic rises, tucking in his wing-sauce-smeared shirt and straightening his bolo tie blearily. He clears his throat and takes an enormous drag on a reeking cigar. Then, looking around and satisfied he has driven away any potential witnesses to his foolishness, he loudly proclaims his votes.
As to 38RZ3, "The Shiny Objects Act," I am happy to be the first to vote for this. It is a long-overdue bit of pomposity to be ascribed to our officials, who are well-meritorious of all the pompousness that can be given. I eschew further argument, in fact, in expectation of unanimous consent, and vote a happy "PËR."
As to 38RZ4, "The Domesday Act," I am equally happy to be the first to vote in the affirmative for it, as well. We have several times in the past attempted to mandate censuses, but with lackluster administrations or officials in place, they were not enacted in anything resembling a timely manner or thoroughness. This is not longer a problem, with the RUMP administration in place and a RUMP Secretary of State who has performed his duties with diligence and excellence. Now we are in a place where we might take a census of some of the most important elements of our people, with the particular eye of increasing our citizenry and their activity. This is no idle wheel-spinning, but rather a common-sense step to gathering information and using it to further one of the most important Talossan interests. I vote a happy "PËR."
As to 38RZ5, "The Whatchu Talkin Bout Willis Act," I vote "PËR."
As to 38RZ6, "The Secret Ballot Investigation Act," I feel full faith and confidence in our current system, but also feel that for it to remain defensible as the best, we should know the alternative. I will be a skeptic, but vote "PËR" in the interest of wisdom.
As to 38RZ7, "The Legal Classification of Talossans Act," I am in opposition. This is a silly bit of legislation which is to no useful purpose, purporting to artificially create a lexicon and impose it on our living language, well before there is any need for such a lexicon (as the only requisite term, Cestour, is already defined in law) or any development of a term that has evolved organically, as would be proper. We are not so rushed for legislation that we cannot stop in the future to define such terms as they are needed. Even further, this bill is sloppy with its terminology, the exact opposite of what is desired in a bill that consists ONLY of such. The author of the legislation Clarked it well before discussion was concluded, being unwilling (and perhaps unable) to further defend it. I vote "Contra."
As to 38RZ8, "The SQUIRRRREEELS IN SPAAAACE ACT" (plus or minus a few letters), I vote "PËR."
As to 38RZ9, "The Saffron Act," I remain dubious and unhappy about such bills... I have expressed previously how I feel this is a slippery slope, but still and all I cannot bring myself to vote against it. I will vote "AUST" with respect to this bill.
As to 38RZ10, "The (Further) Separation of Powers Amendment," I vote "PËR."
Having prepared by driving all away, the Senator is spared having to duck projectiles, and can sit heavily down to munch on more wings.
