Mençéi del Senäts

Dismissing his bevy of interns, the statuesque Senator from Maritiimi-Maxhestic addresses the upper house of the Ziu with words that are characteristically slurred yet magnificent.

Esteemed fellow Senators:

Given the absence of Sir Ián von Metáiriâ, our previous Mençéi (Lord President), and pursuant to the OrgLaw which states that "as often as the office of Mençéi becomes vacant the Senäts shall again choose a senator to be the Mençéi", I am hereby calling the Senäts to hear the issue and vote. Customarily we would wait for our new colleague from Ataturk Province to join us, but given the delay and the likelihood that the vote will not be a close one, I have taken the initiative to do so now.

I would also from the onset like to open with a nomination for the office: the Right Honourable Sir Trotxâ Betiñéir, l'Urðëri dal Naziun, the Squirrel King of Arms and our Minister of Defense. This Senator represents Vuode, and does it with such energy and wisdom that it hardly seems likely that another candidate could approach him.

Accordingly, I hereby ask for any other nominations, should someone feel pressed to offer one, and (failing that) that my esteemed fellow Senators vote on the matter of Sir Troxta being appointed Mençéi, as is fitting the honour of the office.

Before I knew who you were suggesting for Mençéi, my immediate thought was Sir Trotxâ. I wholeheartedly second this nomination!

Fellow Senators -

From the bottom of my heart I thank you for this nomination. However, I see that Talossa is well served by her senators. I can think of at least six other senators who are well qualified for this office.

Given this, I seek to know the sense of the Senäts. What say the other members of this august chamber?

I will be entirely pleased to vote for Sir Earl--I mean, Trotxa. I'd rather it were someone aside from me--I mean, he's the right man for the job! He has two hats, at least, which qualifies him in my book.

Honourable Senators -

Given the sense of the Senäts, and given that it is Democracy Day, and given that this promotion has already been enshrined on the Kingdom's Web Page (and therefore must be true), I can only say this:
