Fellow Legislators:
I rise to make an inquiry of the Secretary of State.
Sir, could you please tell us when the term of office for the current government will expire if it were to remain in power for its full term and when--under this assumption--the next elections would ocurr?
I thank you in advance for your help in this matter.

My Lord —
The current (January) Clark is the 5th Clark of the 36th Cosâ, and this Cosâ already had a no-business month. So if there's no early dissolution, the February Clark will be the last one of this Cosâ, and the General Election will run from March 15 through April 14. The 1st Clark of the 37th Cosâ, then, would begin either in May or June, depending whether the new Prime Minister wanted the month's delay he's entitled to (but PMs rarely use).
If the Cosâ is dissolved early, the General Election will run from February 15 through March 14.
— John Woolley, UrN, Secretary of State

Peeping in at the mention of general elections
I confess doubts as to what nefarious schemes and devious intentions might lie behind such a seemingly innocent question.
Leaves, with the air of having said too much, but drifting back through the door comes the unmistakable sound of a cutlass sliding in its sheath

I wonder if that was the sound of a cutlass sliding IN or OUT of it's sheath?

Maybe both... Knowing our resident Pirate, she's probably got TWO cutlasses. The only question now, is what is the plural of cutlass? There is an argument for the term "cutluss" pronounced "cut-loose". But "cutli" also seems possible.
