Resignations from the Senate

As the leader of his party, it was with a heavy but understanding heart that I accepted the tender of resignation offered by Senator Bettinger, himself a citizen of Vuode province, viz.:

I resign as Senator for Cezembre because the commute to this island paradise is too long, and I would rather spend more time with my family. My last day will be June first, or whenever you can find a suitable replacement. I would welcome a chance to serve Our Kingdom in any other role you may find suitable.

Furthermore, as the leader of my party, it was with a heavy but understanding heart that I tendered myself my own resignation from the Senate, viz.:

I resign as Senator for Vuode. Although I enjoy being a Senator, for absolutely non-existent health reasons, I feel I would be much better suited to represent, oh, say, an island paradise or something.

As the leader of the party with whom both of the now-resigned Senators are generally associated, I must now ponder long and hard about how I can possible re-fill these two seats.
