My belief (and I do not claim any expertise) is that names of teams could be of any of the following forms: - Placename Teamnames (Denver Broncos, Mussolini Monstéirs)
- Teamnames of Placename (Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Virancléirs da Vuode)
- Placename's Teamnames (Hooligan s'Ereux)
- Teamname (Crimson Tide, Pugñhs Ôirësch)
In our fantasy football league, the Ôirësch and the Estiuns do not claim a placename in their name. In this, they are like the Kangaroos of the Australian Football League. Hooligan

Could some speakers of other Romance languages comment here, and please enlighten us as to how the teams in their native nations are named? That is, are the Venice Vermicelli named the Vermicelli di Venizia? Or the Venizia Vermicelli?

Well, here's my tubbence.
In Spanish, the pattern follows "Los Cardinales de San Luís", "Los Mets de Nuevo York", as a quick glance at ESPNDeportes.com will tell you. (Yes, Virginia, I read Spanish-language béisbol coverage; it can be a long cold winter if the only sports you read is English. You find yourself actually trying to fall back on football, or even hockey, to feed that emptiness in your heart and mind, as you wait for the pitchers and catchers to report to camp.) Italian works the same way. Romance languages don't use nouns to directly modify other nouns, the way English and German do.
So "Els Monstéirs da Mussolini", or "Mussolini", or "Els Monstéirs" — any of those would be fine. But not "Els Mussolini Monstéirs".

Well, what do you know? Seems kind of cumbersome -- personally, of course, I think the convenience of allowing a placename to be an adjective in such cases works very well. As we know, Talossan has roots not only in Romance languages, but elsewhere, so I suppose custom will dictate whether Mussolini Monstéirs becomes another way, in Talossan, to say Els Monstéirs da Mussolini?
As for Hooligan s'Ereux, that's proper Talossan (well, "Hooligan" is not Talossan; rather, it is the translation of Tepistà), and acceptable as a team name, right, Sir John?

Well, I seemed to have caused quite a stir with my team name. I would like to say in my own defense that I threw it together with about 4 seconds of thought and the online translator.
So it seems the agreed upon(sort of) good Talossan of my team is Els Monstéirs da Mussolini, though I doubt I can change it now.

(Actually, you definitely CAN change the name of your team in the league at any time. Me, I went through three different team names before deciding on Hooligan s'Ereux.)
