Name: Phillip Mungai
Request: If it so please the Squirrel King of Arms, I request the assistance of the College in designing and obtaining arms for myself and my lawful heirs.
Favorite colors: dark green, gold, and dark blue
I would like a sun on the top right of my shield and a waning moon on the upper left with a golden background behind the sun and a dark blue background behind the waning moon. At the bottom I would like a wavy blue river running through a dark green field.
Thank you.

I humbly ask that my request be acted on, though there is absolutely no rush, I just wish to make sure it is not forgotten.
Thank you once again.

I'm sure they will be granted during the next Talossan Holiday.

Just don't ask me when the next holiday is...
I'm not on the mailing list for the calendar.

The relevant question is not when the next holiday is, per se, but when the next honours list is scheduled to be issued. Which happens to result in the same answer: 21 February. But I'm just pointing that out so no one thinks they got overlooked on 11 January, which is a holiday (one which went unnoticed this year) but NOT a regular honours date. The honours calendar is discussed here: talossa.proboards32.com/index.cgi?board=collegeofarms&action=display&thread=1179327190

Sir Cresti is sadly correct that Labour Day went a bit unremarked-upon. For my own part, I fell ill on Friday evening, preventing me from making a pompous speech commemorating the fateful defeat of the Communist Revolution in Talossa. I take it that everyone else was just as busy resting on the holiday as I was, thus explaining the silence in these forums on our shared day of pride.
Happy Labour Day Weekend, though, everyone!

May it please the Squirrel King -- I have worked up the following (very rough) emblazon for comment, according to the initial thoughts of the petitioner: I (probably incorrectly) count the complexity of this blazon as eight -- four for tinctures, two for charges, and two for ordinaries. Columcille Pursuivant Per fess wavy vert and azure on a chief per pale azure and or a decrescent moon or and a sun in its splendour gules.

The second of these has a plain out-and-out tincture violation with the blue fess on vert.
The first is skating real close to the edge of bad contrast. Note that we have a complex division line between two tinctures that are already poorly contrasting; to my eye, the combination is nearly unidentifiable. On top of that (in more ways than one), we have a chief divided between two tinctures only one of which has good contrast with the field it sits on. Very iffy.
The motif of the chief is very nice. It's the field that strikes me as needing more work.
I get a complexity of nine — four tinctures, sun, moon, fess-line, chief, pale-line.
But then, what do I know?

<snip>
I get a complexity of nine — four tinctures, sun, moon, fess-line, chief, pale-line. To the surprise of no one in the College, Blanc Wolf Herald Emeritus nails it. The design is also a bit unbalanced. I'm not sure how best to fix this. S:reu Molinar has some great ideas, but we need to simplify and increase the contrast. Adding balance would be nice too. What if the petitioner drops the fess, and instead has the field per pale azure and or with a sun in chief over a waning moon in base, both countercharged? -- Jaune Sabre Herald, Squirrel King at Arms PS: Yes, I'm a sucker for the Cub Scout colours.
