The following programme was agreed between the Free Democrats of Talossa, the Awakening and Magnifying Passion party, and the Peculiar Nationalist Party.
CULTURE: This Government takes seriously the argument that cultural activity is the real lifeblood of Talossa, and is the main tool to both promote immigration and encourage participation by existing citizens.
• We will promote competitions, games and other cultural events for citizens, and fund physical prizes for the winners.
• We will continue with the establishment of SIGN as the new body overseeing the Talossan language. SIGN will push forward to not only an agreed spelling of the National Language, but long-overdue reforms to the language itself. The Government will work with the Ladîntsch Naziunál on mandates for more use of ár glheþ naziunál.
STUFF:
• This Government will use social media and the National Website creatively to get Talossa "noticed".
• We will market our Talossan coins and stamps as outreach, and investigate stylish presentation frames for them.
INTERIOR:
• We will create a "New Citizens' Information Packet" and find other ways to get new citizens quickly involved in Talossan society and state.
• We will convene the Council of Governors to recommend a future for provincial governments, including suggestions for further mergers.
• We will pass the "Talossa is Not Wittenberg" Act, requiring new citizens to participate in Talossa outside of our main online discussion forum.
FINANCE:
• On the basis that one house of the Ziu should not be exempt from contributing to public funds, we will seek to amend the Organic Law to allow us to introduce a $US5 fee for successful Senäts candidates.
• In our budget we will seek to increase revenue through "voluntary taxation" (donations from citizens, perhaps a Patreon).
FOREIGN AND DEFENCE POLICIES: We will maintain the status quo, with more emphasis on finding other "Talossa-like entities" for cultural and knowledge exchanges.
JUSTICE: We shall replace Talossa’s system of semi-compulsory voting on pain of loss of citizenship with the creation of an electoral roll separated from the citizenship roll. To keep the latter clear of deceased or vanished citizens, citizens will be de-registered if they fail to answer the bi-yearly Census; but may in such cases re-register upon request.
We shall propose the current reforms to the Organic Law to the Ziu:
1) The Monarchy to become non-hereditary; upon decease or abdication, a new King or Queen to be chosen according to existing provisions for a vacant throne.
2) The Monarch to be given cultural duties alongside their political duties, increasing their active contribution to Talossa.
3) The Seneschál to be elected by the Cosâ by ranked choice voting, and appointed by the Monarch.
We shall continue to investigate legal reforms including:
• updated procedures for the Uppermost Corts and for trials in front of a JP;
• removal of Wisconsin law from our Statutes, and replacement with Talossan equivalents;
• discussions of whether Anglo-American common law and an adversarial justice system continue to be appropriate for Talossa.
