Many of you are aware that the national election is now underway. Pursuant to the The Claiming Our Autonomy Act, our great province conducts its own Senatorial election. Under said act, a candidate must have announced their candidacy 10 days prior to the close of the final Cosa of the last Government. Vuode does not permit write-in candidates. The candidate who satisfied the criteria is Viteu Marcianüs. No other individuals declared their candidacy. Accordingly, the contest proceeds uncontested. Any write-in candidates cannot legally be counted. All votes must be posted in the Vuode sub-forum on Wittenberg. Also, under our provincial Constitution, every citizen of the United Provinces of Vuode and Dandenburg is entitled to claim their seat in the Estats Xhenerais. To do so, you must post your intention to do so during the period of the national election. For administrative convenience, please use this thread to vote for Senate or state your intention to claim your seat in the Estats Xhenerais or both. Please note that any post in another thread within the Vuode forums will count for these purposes, but I ask you to make those posts here for ease of counting. Thank you, V

Thank you all for your votes. I intend to discuss my votes in the Senate with whomever from the UP that wants to consult. I will occassionally seek your input. None of that means we will always disagree or agree. But I'd like to be a fully accessable Senator.
I'm also pleased to share that Eðo Grischun, Chirbi Scherpa-Carriedo, Gödafrïeu Airignha, and I claimed our seats in the forthcoming E-X. Eđo has stated that he intends to run for Premier. I second that.
What is our protocol here? Does the prior Premier convene the next Grand Session and ask for motions and votes? I did it last time but we should have it more formalized.

I second that. What is our protocol here? Does the prior Premier convene the next Grand Session and ask for motions and votes? I did it last time but we should have it more formalized. I don't think we have formal codification on this. As far as I remember, all the law says is that the first acts of a new States General shall be the internal election of the Premier and the Presiding Officer. I think, for now, this leaves us open to any method we prefer. I think we should look at making things more formal for future instances though. I'm not sure who the prior Premier was. I suppose taking a round of nominations for both posts is the logical first step though. With that all said, let me congratulate my learned and Right Honourable colleague, Senator-Elect Marcianus, on his return to the Senate. We don't always agree on issues at the national levels of governance, but we have very rarely had conflict when it comes to provincial matters or issues that could affect Vuode, so I know that we are in good hands. But, his pronunciation of the name of the province is terribly disgusting and I may seek censure of the new Senator due to this travesty in time to come. Also, I am pleased to see our States General swell to 4 members! I look forward to working with you all and wish you good fortunes in the session to come.

Thank you! Hopefully this portends a more active province.
Last time, I, without title the ball rolling. Chirbi was Premier and I president of the Grand Session.
For continuity, I'd like to establish the tradition that a preceing member opens up the new grand session and takes motions and votes for Premier and President.

Sounds good to me. My preference would be that the incumbent presiding officer have this duty. This time, again, would be yourself. tag: Viteu Marcianüs
