Once the King has approved same, I will very soon be appointed Minister of STUFF. The particular rules of my political party prevent one from being a member of the Cabinet as well as Mencei. Effective upon my appointment as Minister of STUFF, I resign the post as Mencei, but not that of Senator.
Should for whatever reason my appointment fall through, this resignation shall be null and void.
Many thanks to all of you for your trust and confidence, and to Lüc da Schir, in particular, who took it upon himself to be my de facto secretary, keeping me on-track as to the minimal, but important duties of this body's presiding officer. Without hesitation, I recommend Lüc as our next Mencei.

Fellow Senators, let me be the first one to congratulate Senator Válcadác’h on his appointment as Minister of STUFF and thank him for his passionate service as our Mençei. He and I both served in the first post-Reunision coalition government four years ago and I'm very happy to see him back in Cabinet.
I would also like to thank GV for his confidence in me as a potential replacement. If his appointment is confirmed, and the current rule proposals are accepted by the Senate, I will be honoured to seek election to the Chair under the provisions of Rule 2.

Five minutes ago as I write this, the King formally appointed me Minister of STUFF. Thanks again, everyone. I enjoyed being Mencei, and again, I endorse Lüc for the post.
