The frequency of these posts has been a bit lower than one per day and may continue to drop a bit in the future. Turns out even after deciding the order in advance reading the available info and writing these paragraphs is a bit more work than I had hoped for and with other things going on in my life I cannot afford to spend that time every day. I will keep doing these until its finished, but the frequency will probably be closer to 3 per week than 7.
Of course, comments, critical thoughts, likes, and nostalgic reminiscing about the good old days etc are still a great way to keep me motivated.

Elections to the 41st Cosa - April 2010
Halfway through the election it was still unclear whether this election would change the status quo or not. Three minor parties participating the previous election weren't contesting this one and it was neck and neck between the RUMP and the Progressives. Other than the two major parties a revived CRO was running as well and it was generally assumed (at least within PP circles, correctly or incorrectly) that if the RUMP were to lose their majority the CRO would side with the PPT. Interestingly enough none of the parties managed to register in time, so essentially it was entirely a write-in election (I wonder if this should have been illegal or did the law change since then?), but that didn't matter a great deal, because elections were still held mostly on witt and most people seemed to be able to figure out which parties were running. The previous election had featured lots of nasty personal arguments, leading among other things to the renunciation of former PP leader Owen Edwards. The term itself had been very quiet though, with not a lot of activity from the side of the government and most bills coming from the opposition and being rejected by the Ziu. After Edwards successor disappeared as well the PPT elected Breneir Itravilatx as their leader. He ran a strong campaign, resulting in the best ever result for the Progressives, but not strong enough, because in the end the RUMP managed to keep its majority. The elections were relatively calm as well and turnout was down. Some expected Brad Holmes, who played an important role in the RUMP campaign to become the new Seneschal, but instead the RUMP selected Alexandreu Davinescu.
Turnout (witt): 65 (-11)
Seats (EM200, witt):
El Raßemblamaintsch Unusual dels Misfätsilor Pareßeis / The Unusual Rally of Lazy Delinquents (RUMP): 108 (+3) Progressive Party of Talossa (PPT): 89 (+21) Viensità Ciumisâ Cézembre / Cézembre Reunification Organisation (CRO): 3 (new)
Richter scale: 3.0

Elections to the 23rd Cosa - August 1997
A lot had happened in the preceding period: Clashes and distrust between cybercits and old growthers, an almost constitutional crisis, a libel lawsuit against King Ben, encounters with other Talossa-inspired micronations, multiple PM and Distain changes, an online discussion group being taken down and revived again, but most importantly, the passage of the 1997 Organic Law. As a result the most interesting aspects of the following elections were the first election of a Senate and the reduction of the Cosa to 20 seats. The PC comfortably kept its majority. The mostly cybercit ZPT kept growing, but other opposition parties SPP, COP and most notably VP folded, with most of their voters either voting PC or not showing up. Two minor parties got one vote. For one of those, the SAP, I cannot find the meaning of the acronym anywhere, but apparently it was a predecessor to the RCT. Dale Morris stayed on as PM, at least for a couple more months. The election results themselves didn't really change the course of Talossa. However, the events that unfolded afterwards would.
Turnout: 27 (nc, db)
Seats (20, db/ap) / Vote percentage (db): Progressive Conservative Party (PC): 12 / 59.3% (+3.7) Defenders of the Land of Talossa (ZPT): 6 / 33.3% (+14.8) Catholic Party (CP): 1 / 3.7% (new) ? (SAP): 1 / 3.7% (new)
Richter scale: 4.0 - Noticeable shaking of indoor objects and rattling noises. Felt by most people in the affected area. Slightly felt outside. Generally causes none to minimal damage. Moderate to significant damage very unlikely. Some objects may fall off shelves or be knocked over.

SAP = Social Action Party, and yes I believe that was Mximo's after leaving the Silver Phoenix Party.
Ha ha, this was the period in which I and Evan G. were trying to build a case for Pengöpäts autonomy and KR1 was trying to build a case to have the CpI reject me from citizenship. And the libel case... that was hilarious. KR1 claimed in his newspaper that the Silver Phoenix Party was made up of "extreme right-wingers" AND at the same time was a "front for the Left". Evan G. sued him for libel. Ben changed the borders of Støtanneu black to protest this outrageous attack on press freedom. Danihél Lauriér wrote an editorial saying that the case had no merit based on the ratio of Falwell v. Hustler - i.e. that no-one believed anything Ben wrote in his lying propaganda sheet full of lies anyway, so you can't be libelled by it.
