As the sitting President of the Senate, it's my pleasure to open the fourth session of the Senate of Benito. This term's senators are:

• Iason Bitxichë Taiwos
• Tric'hard Carschaleir
• Flip Molinar
• Lüc da Schir
• Istefan Perþonest

Ineligible former national Senators or O.Be recipients are the same as last time.

Before proceeding with the business of the House, first and foremost the appointment of a new President, we will wait for the Assembly to get seated and elect a new Maestro, so that we can see if any additional Senators are appointed.

As the Senate is in session, however, any Senator is welcome to make any opening remarks.

Seeing how the Assembly and the new Maestro have both completed their own preliminary business, we can proceed to the election of a President. Any nominations?

Fellow Senators, I would like to notify the Senate that a bill, the Subdivision Act of 2018, has passed the Assembly on September 30th, having been introduced there on September 21st. It now falls upon the Senate to either pass the bill as it stands, send an amended version back to the Assembly, or reject it outright.

The time allotted for debate and the presentation of amendments is now open. The vote is scheduled for Friday 5th, or later if amendments are accepted by the main sponsor.
