Firstly, thank you to Marti-Pair Furxheir S.H., our Secretary of State, for conducting the election. As ever, a job well done, especially seeing as we threw him a bit of a curve ball with the Senate elections. Thanks M-P.
Congratulations to the MRPT on winning the election and achieving a plurality in the Cosa and congratulations, also, to the Freedems for being returned to the parliament as Talossa's third party. Our differences are often vast, however, I am certain that we all share the commonality in desiring the very best for our nation. I wish you all the very best for the coming term.
I also wish to congratulate Hooligan, Glüc da Dhi and Béneditsch Ardpresteir, O.SPM. for their Senate elections. It, perhaps, seems unlikely that the Maricopan victor will take his seat, but congratulations all the same for a successful bid. I look forward to working with whomever ends up representing Maricopa, as well as with the Florencian and Cezembrean Senators.
Additionally, I'd like to thank the supporters of RUMP for lending us your votes. We have been returned to the Cosa with 58 seats, which is by many counts not a victory, however, we take some solace in still being Talossa's second largest party. We thank you for your support and for voting RUMP.
The citizens of the nation have now spoken. The message they sent is quite clear. They have confidence in the MRPTs ability to steer our government, and to that, I concede. The two largest parties following this election are both monarchist parties, which speaks volumes in itself. The will of the nation is clearly pro-monarchy, but I think there is a lesson for my party to listen to and to learn from. There is a desire amongst the population of this Kingdom for reform. The RUMP will move forward from this election having listened to this message and reflect upon it. I will, in due course, present to my party my own ideas for modernising the monarchy. I wish to see a strong monarchy, not a weakened monarchy, yet at the same time, live up to modern democratic principles. I wish to see a stable monarchy that will endure over time giving our country continuity while providing our nation with a steadfast symbol of Talossan identity and unity and helping to foster a sense of national pride. We will offer to the nation, in due course, our platform to achieve this.
Finally, let me thank the citizenry as a whole as well as all members of all political parties for exemplary conduct in this election. Recent events in other parts of the world, some in very surprising places, have shown the fragility of democracy. It only works when we all espouse its ideals and then live by them. Again, we can have differing ideas on how it's supposed to work, but we must always voice these differences peacefully and without violence. Again, Talossa, I am proud to stand amongst you. Thank you.
Yours for Talossa.
For King and Country.
